I tried to answer your email last night, but could not get the reply to send. I'll try here. I started the virtual walk because I found the treadmill really boring, even when I was watching tv. I needed some kind of challenge.
I've visited Britain several times, so thought that would be a good place to start. I knew about the Land's End to John O'Groats, so googled the name and found a blog by Mark Moxom, who walked the whole thing. i'm following his route, and then looking up info about the places I pass through.
There is a team called "where are you walking to?" which has several walks, including a monthly challenge. Hope you decide to try a walk, I really enjoy it and have surprised myself by my determination to stick to it.
"You are capable and worthy of being and doing anything. You just need the discipline and determination to see it through. It won't come instantly, and you may backslide from time to time, but don't let that deter you. Never give up. Life is an ever-changing process, and nothing is final. Therefore, each moment and every new day is a chance to begin anew." -Barbara Cage
Thanks for commenting on my blog, "The Scale and Me." Have a healthy, active day! PS: Don't give up. I've been my own worst enemy at times, too. Now we need to work hard to be our own best friend. I'm rooting for you.
Hi there! Thanks for the friend add and for your very kind comment on the picture of my daughter and I! We enjoy doing the races together, something I never ever thought I would like to do much less be able to do.
I'm in therapy now for plantar faciitis so not sure of our next race.
I look forward to getting to know you. I hope you are having a great start to the week!
Thanks for the comment on my pictures of Bear and Prince. Yes, Bear was a very handsome fellow. I lost him a year ago this past summer (summer of 2012) due to a lung tumor. I still miss him and probably always will.
I now have Prince, who is a handsome young man in his own right. All of my dogs all my life have been more or less rescued dogs. I've had strays, pound dogs and Prince who we got from the humane society and who had a terrible life prior to his rescue including beatings by bull whip. Now he has his forever home and loads of love which he so beautifully returns.
Sorry about your loss. It is so painful to loose a member of the family, canine or otherwise.
