I am 58 years old, live in the northern tip of NH, have been married to to my DH for 30 years and have a son who will graduate from culinary arts school as a chef and a pastry chef.

I had a hip replacement a year ago. My has increased 100 fold and it's incredible. I have discovered hiking and love it.

My goals have changed a lot lately. I have learned that that it isn't about weight loss, the the journey to a healthier lifestylye. I am also learning to like the person on the inside. She is someone that I want to get to know and never knew. I have goals that aren't about weight, exercise or nutrition related which is totally new for me.

My goals for this Spring Challenge are:
1 Be able to hike at more.

2. Walk a 5K.

3. Use the birthday gift my parents gave me (a local atlas) to check out the local trails.
***********
My long term goals are:
1. To get upto a calorie range of of 1300 (or slightly less)-1650 calories a day.

2. I will log everything I eat (good or bad). I will also strive to increase my fiber intake.

3. I will track my fitness on a daily basis.

4. I will do 60 minutes of cardio on good days and no more than 15 minutes on not so good days - 6 days a week-no excuses. Anything extra is a bonus!

5. I will strength train a minimum of 3 times a week-no excuses.

6. I will work to improve my mobility issues and become stronger along the way.

7. I will make every effort to reach my 5% goal
.
8. I blog at least 1 times a week.

10. I will post these goals in a place where I can see them on a daily basis.

11. I will weigh-in weekly.

2. To reach my goal weight of 160 pounds. I will see how I feel when I reach that weight about going further.

3. Fit into a size 12 (or smaller) jeans .

4. Swim 10 laps with ease.

5. Complete the Spring 5% Challenge and lose 5% of my body weight.

My Program:
I have started tracking all the food I eat each day. Quite an eye opener let me tell you.

I joined the local gym and will begin circuit training there. I will also do weight training and use the lap pool on alternating days.

Unfortunately, Mongo (the St. Bernard went with my son's GF emoticon ) I am waiting for my DS to send me a picture of my grandfurbaby Maggie. The best way I can describe her is what I call a Heinz 57. Even looking at her, you have no idea what breed she may be. LOL

emoticon my precious friend from the bottom of my emoticon for being so very , very supportive a week ago Mon when all went WRONG !! I forgot to tell you this AM,,,, I saw the Dr who prescribes the med that I had "reacted to" to be told that was NOT the case. If it HAD been a reaction it would of been very different and that would of NEVER caused the stuttering or the gaited walking I had at first been doing. The Dr I saw is NOT at ALL impressed with the diagnosis. Of course I am NOT willing to go for more tests. The really important one was done,, the MRI and the MMA. As long as theirs no damage to the brain,,, that's FINE ! He feels it's something neurological,,,, if it should happen again,,,, told him I'll go the OTHER hosp,, he agreed though he's associated with the one I did go to.

TY SO MUCH For being a friend !!! I am THRILLED you got to go on the over night hike ! I HOPE you will have MANY MORE of them. PLEASE Do a blog and include pics !

HUGs GAL ! Going to bed now,,,, sticking by the Sleep Challenge team,,,, I DO now go to bed by 2AM,, and UP before 10,,, often I wake up between 7 and 8,,,with a nap in the afternoon.

    HOPE YA SLEPT EXCELLENTLY !

Thanks for stopping by to give me the rollerblades goodie! I'm an avid skater, but have never tried blades...they don't allow them at my rink. emoticon

I did enjoy the Spring Challenge, although I spent too much of it not making any progress and did not quite make my 5% goal. But a loss is a loss and I DID end at a lower weight than I started, and have since pushed on to finally reach ONEDERLAND...a place I have not visited in a quarter of a century! I like it here and fully intend to STAY, although there is still much work to be done here! emoticon
