Losers are Winners

My name is MaryAnn and I want to win at the losing game. I'm 55 and really want to lose 50 lbs. I'm married and have a Black devil dog named Kayla. My husband is a sport nut. Does all kinds of exciting sports. Me, not so much. Hopefully someday. I really want to be able to do things with ease and not carry around all this excess baggage on my person.

The number on the scale does not define you. The love in your heart, does.

It's time for me to get serious about this lifestyle change. I just wondered if you have any strategies that worked for you. Last winter I went gluten free and lost 15 pounds. I have plateaued since May. It's really hard to find foods that don't have wheat.
I've read the Spark and try to incorporate some of the things into my routine, but I don't seem to carry them thru long enough to make them habits.

I'm pretty good at not indulging at work. I did yesterday but I'll be better now that I have someone to be accountable to. Feel free to give me heck. At home is another matter. I do most of the cooking and I'm the one you gets the groceries. If I go shopping when I'm hungry, I cave into the goodies.
Tomorrow will be a test for my willpower. Our staff christmas party is going to be a brunch. I might have something small before I get there so I don't eat too much.
I'm planning to take an extra long walk later with my dog. The snow we got is melting fast. We're having some warm weather for last few days. Forecast is nice for a change.

You're right. The fats are a little high, but my goal for this week has been to add fruits and veggies. That I have done.

Today I hiked the Lake Flora trail with the VOA. We didn't make it to the lake, we hiked about 2.5 hours then came back, and had lunch up on the snow with a great view of Chilliwack Lake. The total hiking time was about 4.5 hours. I thought of you, we were in your back yard, kind of. Are you a hiker?
