I had a a good amount of success in my weight loss journey in 2013. In 2014, I seemed to stall -- gaining and losing the same 5-8 pounds over and over. I know I can do this and want to reach my goals. It will happen if I get back to basics - choosing healthier foods, moving more and monitoring my food intake. I may stumble but I will not beat myself up and I will not give up. I can do this!

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to get down to 165 lbs. which will put me in the "normal" BMI range. I lost 38 pounds initially but have put some back on. The good news is that even with the gain, I have maintained an almost-30-lb weight loss for a couple of years. Now I need to get moving again. My weekly goal is to lose 1 to 1 1/2 pounds on average.

My Program:
My specific actions to work toward my goals are:

--logging into
--tracking my food and cardio
--strength training (which I find very challenging but I'm trying hard to be positive and trust that I will get strong and better at it!)
-Journaling and blogging to celebrate successes, to explore my feelings, and to work through obstacles.

Personal Information:
I am a math teacher and returned to a traditional classroom last year after having spent 6 years teaching online. I'm definitely standing and moving more throughout the day which is good. And, the energy from being with people live and in person each day is a definite plus. I love movies, books, theater and spending time with friends.

Other Information:
I have already learned a great deal about health and nutrition but have problems sticking with things.

    Success is a Choice
"Today I will make many choices, and each will have a consequence. Today I can choose to tell myself that I am worth the effort, or I can tell myself doesn't matter, I'll do it tomorrow. Today I can choose to journal, or I can choose not to. Today I can choose to drink my water, or I can choose to be
dehydrated. Today I can choose to stay in my points range, or I can choose to hinder my goals. Today I can choose to be more active, or I can choose to take the easy way. Today I can choose to be motivated, or I can choose to tell myself "I can't." Today I can choose success. IT IS MY CHOICE."

"Sometimes victory seems so far away because we measure it only by the goal. And end goals can seem overwhelmingly huge, daunting, and just plain hard to reach. But if we start measuring our victories by the smaller choices we make each day, victory won't seem so impossible.....
It's amazing the chain reaction that can start in your life with just one good choice.
Big things are built one brick at a time.
Victories are achieved one choice at a time.
A life well lived is chosen one day at a time.
Oh sweet friend, you are closer than you think to victory!"

Be your own hero, one choice and one step at a time! You might not see visible signs of progress right away, but as long as you keep doing your best, you will make progress and you will be victorious! I'm rooting for you! Remember, you're worth your best effort!

Hi Mary, isn't it funny how our bodies try to tell us when we are headed in the wrong direction? I'm a learning diabetic in training.... LOL .... and my body sure puts up a good fight when I make bad choices!
