The time is now

I've been at a plateu for three years. I started a new job in a new city six months ago, partly to be in a healthier environment. Now's the time to match my actions to my desire: I want to eat healthier and lose weight so my size matches the high level of physical activity I enjoy.

My sister introduced me to Sparkpeople and she's been a big inspiration. So far, so good!

Lake Geneva was my first Olympic distance race in 2006 - and the weekend my now-husband and I started dating, just after we finished the race together! It will always hold a special place in my heart, but now that they lost USAT sanctioning we'll see how long it takes before I comfortable racing up there again. I have had my bike on the trainer in the middle of my living room most of this week, so it's been nice to at least spin a bit, even if I'd much rather be on the roads!

I just noticed from a message board post that you're doing the Chicagoland Danskin triathlon in July! Such a great race! I was a workout leader for training program last year and am still deciding if I can both coach and fit in my own training this year. Enjoy the journey!

hahaha that's so funny you put both pictures up! You should clarify that that little guy looking at the cake is NOT your sibling.

Congratulations on 12 pounds! You are doing so great!
