Hello! Do you Zoom? I zoom on Zoom whole wheat cereal and my bicycles and my skis and my feet. Act I goals were to burn off 30, then 40, then 50 pounds by October, August, then July 2010. The stages for Act I were my two bicycles,Red Rollin' Rollie Awesome, a hybrid, and Felt Up, a carbon-fiber road bike. My heart sings on a bicycle. After burning off 60 pounds and developing confidence in my physical abilities I was ready for Act II. The stage for Act II was the Alaska Pacific University pool - learning to swim and participate in the 2011 Gold Nugget Triathlon in Anchorage. After burning off 90 pounds the weight goals became less relevant in relation to my physical activity and experiences. I was ready for Act III in January 2011. The stage for Act III has been ALASKA! I regularly go hiking, biking, camping, hashing, running, swimming, skiing. I eat to fuel, not eat to comfort or control. As of my third anniversary with SparkPeople I have maintained a 90-pound weight loss within a 10-pound range for over a year, since a March 2011 annual physical. I am doing what I set out to do. There is no closing act.

My Goals:
Act II goals are about fueling myself well, increasing my endurance, burning off 50 pounds by May 2011, and learning to swim so I can participate in the 2011 Gold Nugget Triathlon in Anchorage. Act II was short-lived. I need to eat more. Act III commenced on January 7, 2011. Maintenance Mode! And still acting up!
My Program:
I track calories consumed every day, and spend 5 or 6 hours in moderate to intense physical activity every week. I hike, bike, run, ski, swim, and stay active and social. My best tools so far are my kitchen scale, measuring cups, freezer containers, Planet Fitness, my bicycles ROLLIE AWESOME and FELT UP, my swim goggles, my right and left skis, my running shoes, my iPod Nano, and my iPhone.
Personal Information:
I have claws, spines, and sharp, pointy teeth. I like Scotch. I used to hate having my head under water. I started swimming lessons in September 2010. I hated running. I started jogging in October 2010. I ran my first 10K in October 2011. I wanted to ski. I learned how to classic cross-country ski in December 2011.
Other Information:
APPLEPIEDREAMS is a good friend who shared her spark with me and motivated me to join SparkPeople. You just try and catch her. ASPENGRRL is my co-worker and friend who motivates me to keep on track at work and go home at a decent hour instead of staying at my desk. NO_COOKIES is my sister who taught me about America's Test Kitchen and step aerobics. I taught her about Skinny Raven.
