Excited to get to this size again, hopefully soon but... sadly, I felt over-weight then too

Most Recent, the video footage had me in tears. I hadn't been honest with myself

Like a phoenix, out of the fire comes my turning point. I could no longer deny the problem : )

I have 4 pics in my gallery

Hello and welcome! I just turned 51 and the scale says 210 and my liver is probably quite tired of my antics. It's my desire & intent to replace the abuse with healthy alternatives... to spend the next fifty years loving the person I am becoming and enjoying life in this amazing creation we know as the human body!

I am a singer/songwriter with a lot of music in me and I get sooo much positive feedback, but I know my weight and my habits are like a ball and chain keeping me from moving much further toward my dreams.

I just love CHRISTINA791's mantra, "what would healthy me do?!" I am going to adopt that for myself! I have spent the better part of my life so far indulging in self-sabotaging habits.
My thing is that they are habits and several of them. Easily reproduced at the drop of notion.

I have so much in me left undone, dreams waiting to manifest and the only way I see to get there is to make some substantial changes. SparkPeople seems like a nice tool for me to ground myself in commitment and stay accountable.

I also loved 2bfree2live's motivation and I'm including it here so that I can refer back to it as need!

One member I saw broke the weight into 10lb segments and then enjoyed the success for each step reached and I think I will do that with all my goals... break them down into easily reachable segments and then enjoy the feeling of getting stuff done!

Thank you fellow members for the many words of encouragement, the success stories, and the willingness to be honest about setbacks but get back at it anyhow! Namaste

Thank you for your comments on my "Standards Blog." This seems to be a topic at every family event. I've been seeing my family more than usual in preparation for Thanksgiving and this always seems to come up. My family just doesn't understand my position in all of this. There perspective is its better to be a couple regardless of the compromises necessary. My perspective is I'd rather be single than in an unhappy or dishonest relationship. I don't expect them to change at this stage of the game but it is really getting old. Thank you again for your support.

Thank you for visiting my Sparkpage. I added you as a Sparkfriend as well. That means that you can click on "community" and click on "friend feed" and see what your friends are doing on Spark.

Whether you have 10 pounds to lose of 100, this is the best website to reach your goals and not only lose weight but, find a new way to live life to the fullest.

I started by logging my food on the nutrition tracker, eating healthy foods and drinking 8 glasses of water a day. Just doing that helped me shed the first 25 pounds. It also helped my body to crave sugar less and leveled out my mood. As I started accomplishing my goals, my self-esteem grew and I wasn't depressed anymore.

I am sooo happy with what I have accomplished so far. I know that if I stick with this, I will reach my goal. My thinking has changed. I know this is a lifestyle and not a "diet". I am willing to make these changes for the rest of my life.

My worst day now is 100 times better than my best day before. You deserve to be happy and healthy. Take it one day at a time and think "healthy" thoughts. It is really just about making healthy choices and doing it long enough that it becomes a habit.

Best wishes to you on your journey. WE ARE GONNA DO THIS...WOOHOO!!!
