Excited to get to this size again, hopefully soon but... sadly, I felt over-weight then too

Most Recent, the video footage had me in tears. I hadn't been honest with myself

Like a phoenix, out of the fire comes my turning point. I could no longer deny the problem : )

I have 4 pics in my gallery

Hello and welcome! I just turned 51 and the scale says 210 and my liver is probably quite tired of my antics. It's my desire & intent to replace the abuse with healthy alternatives... to spend the next fifty years loving the person I am becoming and enjoying life in this amazing creation we know as the human body! I am a singer/songwriter with a lot of music in me and I get sooo much positive feedback, but I know my weight and my habits are like a ball and chain keeping me from moving much further toward my dreams. I just love CHRISTINA791's mantra, "what would healthy me do?!" I am going to adopt that for myself! I have spent the better part of my life so far indulging in self-sabotaging habits. My thing is that they are habits and several of them. Easily reproduced at the drop of notion. I have so much in me left undone, dreams waiting to manifest and the only way I see to get there is to make some substantial changes. SparkPeople seems like a nice tool for me to ground myself in commitment and stay accountable. I also loved 2bfree2live's motivation and I'm including it here so that I can refer back to it as need! M- MAKE SHORT TERM GOALS O- OUT WITH THE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS T- THINK OF WHY YOU WANT THIS I- IMAGINE HOW YOU WILL FEEL V- VISUALIZE HOW YOU WILL LOOK A- ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SUCCESSES T- TREAT YOURSELF WITH RESPECT I- INVESTIGATE NEW WAYS TO GET FIT O- OBSERVE YOUR HEALTHY LIFESTYLE N- NEVER GIVE UP One member I saw broke the weight into 10lb segments and then enjoyed the success for each step reached and I think I will do that with all my goals... break them down into easily reachable segments and then enjoy the feeling of getting stuff done! Thank you fellow members for the many words of encouragement, the success stories, and the willingness to be honest about setbacks but get back at it anyhow! Namaste emoticon
