Back in the saddle again!

I was among the millions of Americans laid off during the recent recession. I was out of work for 17 months, and even though I kept running, I gained 17 pounds, mostly from lack of a regular routine, depression, and unfettered access to snacks ;-) But I'm back in the saddle again, found a new job, joined a health club, and I'm signed up for the B.A.A. Half marathon in Boston on October 9th, 2011.

My Goals:
1.
Achieve balance with my new job; primary focus is on personal health.

2.
Regain my previous fitness level, reduced weight, and endurance for long distance running.

My Program:
1.
Must increase cross training and strength training, by itself running is not enough to keep the weight off.

2.
July: 7-mile runs
Aug: 9-mile runs
Sep: 11-mile runs
Oct: Boston 1/2 Marathon

3.
Run, run, and run some more.
