Hi Mark, We are both on the cholesterol team and the eating whole foods team. I am reading a book called Foods that Cause You To Lose Weight by Dr. Neal Barnard. I and my guy are going Vegetarian because of our health issues. I really think we are on the right track. I have been eating a ton of fruits and veges and I have been under my calories for the day for the past 3 days. I joined SP 3 days ago. I can't believe how full I am from all the great veges and fruits. I have been making soups out of veges and beans and that is another great way to fill up for very little calories.
Oatmeal is great for breakfast because it fills you up. I use coconut milk on mine and it tastes great. I also use some cinnamon and splenda on it.
I think you are doing a great job and you are on the right track.

These are some great books on lowering your cholesterol and losing weight. These are vegetarian diets (I'm vegetarian so I find this easy to follow) but alot of people are lowering there cholesterol, blood pressure and alot of other things just by not eating animal products.
There are other books but these are my favorites. Hope this helps(even if you you don't go vegetarian the books still are great)
