My Goals:
New short-term goal: 30 mile loop of an organized ride on October 11, 2008, the Grand Rapids Wheelmen Colorburst Tour. Keep checking my blog for training updates and how I'm faring.

New long-term goal: A century ride next October. Same tour, 100 mile loop! Let's see if I can train for this one.

I want to be down to 135-140 as quickly as possible!

I want to be a size 10 (or really close) by my next birthday.

I want a job within the next 6 weeks. Actually, I NEED a job within the next 6 weeks.

I want to buy a bathing suit that I'm not embarrassed to wear next summer.

My Program:
I'm logging my food, water and restricting my calories.

I'm doing everything I can to eat healthier and drinking more water than I have in years.

I exercise every day. I alternate between walking and cycling. Strength training is something I'm working on incorporating. I don't enjoy that much.

Personal Information:
I live in Western Michigan. Love the big lake (Lake Michigan) and don't foresee ever moving away from here again. Unless it's to London.

Other Information:
I love old movies (30's and 40's). Watch TCM all the time.

Get on a bike with me, force me to ride mine, and we'll be friends forever! LOL

Happy Thanksgiving

Best Wishes

hi 'sheri!

so glad you added me. I could use more cycling support buddies. I just got in from 35 miles. It was hot; at least 92...someone told me where i took a break. they couldn't understand how i could be out there. Truth was, me either. I just need soooo much more time in the saddle. but my legs are still tired i guess from spin class last night. i wasn't planning on getting out today but at the last moment, i got to i don't wait for opportunity to knock twice. lol otherwise, i like to get a much earlier start. cycling right, smack in the middle of the day takes much out of me.

My event is October 4th. Not very far. I have no real idea of how to train for the thing...I'm just going at it however I can. I've been a spinner for about 5 years off and on which totally has helped my stamina and biking abilitites. I could really see that today.

It would be cool if your out there on the same day as me....I'm going to be thinking of everyone as I bike to encourage do it for me and every team I belong to.

oh my, you make me blush! Thanks for the kudos on our pictures and was just in June of this year. It was amazing. We've worked hard on our marriage and eachother, and ourselves. It's all part of me turning my new leaf. He's my number one supporter...I'm truly blessed to have jody,DH, in my life. Thank you for the cheer.

look forward to chatting with you more! Happy spinnin'

by the way, i love your Spark Page background. It's really cute. emoticon

Hi Sheri,
I saw your post in the bike team. I have to laugh at your intro with regards to your daughter. Mine just turned 14 and is the same, except she doesn't like to shop if you can believe that. She groans about walking. I road bike and we recently, as in last week, got my dear hubby a new mt bike and a little half bike that attaches to it for my 4 yr. old to peddle and ride with him. We make our daughter go; she HATES IT...but sometimes, I think she likes getting pulled along. She is an artists and spends her days creating her masterpieces. My oldest son also plays football. He is pretty active. We don't do things with him as much as I would like.

I'm signing up to do my first century. I just rode my first 52 miles on labor day. the century is all flat terrain. It's in Nevada. I train with rolling hills...they're actually all over or I would try to avoid them. I really try to avoid the steeper climbs for now. I am scared and excited about the century. I'm going to my best to complete it.

I'm also really into spin. I go to the local YMCA for that. If you have one near you, go ck it out. They're very community based oriented and nothing like spin to whip you into shape. It's not the roads and it is a good substitute for me when it's hot or too cold or, I love spinnin' to the music. I totally enjoy it!

A new position will turn up for you before long! I hope it's one you really like.

Stay in touch ...would love to hear how your progressing!

Fantastic! I added you as a friend as well. Isnt it awesome how quickly the weight can leave when you are on a bike? What kind of bike do you have? I have an Electra Townie, which is a comfort bike. I wish I could do a road bike so I could go faster, but I have carpal tunnel syndrome and scared-of-sitting-up-high-on a bike syndrome! lol
