Did you check out nosdiet.com? The founder, Reinhard Engels, when he was approached about writing a book, very much wanted to call it a lifestyle, which it really really is, but publishers make too much money off selling diet books. The good news is that he didn't change anything about the actual plan for them.

I hope you take advantage of the forum there to help encourage you through the process of implementing the rules. It doesn't work like a traditional diet that gets people to lose weight up front (only to gain later), though some people do lose some right away.

I didn't set out to lose, though. I had lost and regained so many times that I feared it. I wanted to reduce my bingeing, and I have, AND have lost weight. But I would still be eating this way even if I hadn't lost weight.

I'm guessing it's the one where he's running across the frozen pond (maybe not--I take LOTS of pics and vids of him -- sooooo obvious that I don't have kids; probably best, I'd be THAT mum!).

I'm happy it brings joy! He brings me a lot of laughs, for sure. We had some fun in the back creek last night. I'll upload that soon.

Welcome to our small but mighty No S Diet team! I'm so grateful Reinhard Engels was generous enough to offer his ideas on the web. Years ago, OA recommended 3 meals a day and before that Geneen Roth had recommended using hunger and satiety. I think NO S is the best of both worlds. Hope you do, too! emoticon

It's difficult to describe what I do but it's not what you think when you hear 'graphic artist.' It's what a graphic artist did 15-20 years ago.

I don't know web design. I don't do animation. I do logos, basically, and of course I do old-school illustration (with pen and ink). It's not something you can make a living from really (anymore). Everybody expects you to know coding, programming and WEB design (do our art, newsletters but most importantly, our social media, website and email blasts).

I don't do those things. I'm sort of niche in that.

I don't work with clients. That's our sales people and their reps. So, it's not the business you think of TODAY when you hear what I do. I'm locked away in this no-man's land. People who DO know coding, programming and can not just build but update/fix websites (commercial, not a blog) usually work for themselves nowadays, absolutely.

Even my supervisor who was sacked couldn't get a gig for a long time because our 'job title' today doesn't truly show what we do.

Finally, he got hired but they did it fully knowing he must be TRAINED to do all the other stuff. Had he not been a supervisor for some 30 years, they wouldn't have been interested. He got in due to his management capabilities -- and the fact that since he understands basic 'art' on computer, he's trainable. So, I could feasibly get a job where they're going to train me on all that last 10 years stuff but ...

Everybody I know (who were laid off; our artdept used to have 24 people, now has FOUR) has NOT found a job--except the supervisor! We're talking over 3 years. Most are babysitting for family STILL or a couple went to school for medical stuff (assistant) but then got out and still can't find a job. Part of it is our local economy, which is far worse than national. When national was hovering around 9% unemployment, ours was 24%.
