While I have breath, I'm gonna keep on trying!

My name is Maris. I live in Philly. I have been "dieting" or trying to lose weight in one form of another ALL of my life - literally. Well, since I was a teenager and my grandmother pointed out to me I should lose some weight. I've lost a lot of weight before, the most was 125 lbs. on the Optifast diet (didn't eat solids for 9 months!) and most recently, about 65 lbs. with the lapband surgery. None of them lasted.

My goal is to start eating more nutritionally healthy meals, stop eating junk food, fried food and processed food, start moving my body again each day, starting with 10 minutes, until I'm up to 60 min.

Hi Dede. Thanks for saying hi.

I have to admit I'm getting frustrated. The weight isn't coming off as fast I would like, not consistently anyway. Sometimes it goes up 2 lbs, then down 2, then maybe none at all. Is it my age? Am I premenopausal? Is it because I don't drink enough water or eat too many carbs (my weakness)? God knows I exercise enough - everyday I'm on my Treadclimber for at least 30 minutes. I take one day to rest.

I'm trying to hold on, but I'm almost at that point where I want to throw in the towel. HELP!!!

Hey and good morning. I don't plan on giving up this time, no matter how long it takes (although my goal date is my birthday next year, July 15).

Slow and steady this time no matter how many of those quick weight loss infomercials I see on TV!
