Hi Marilyn! I saw your question about the weight loss ticker on one of the message boards so I thought I'd try to help!
1) Go to your spark page 2) Click on "Edit my Spark Page" 3) Scroll Down the page to where it says "My Weight Loss Ticker" Here, you will select the background and ticker icon and enter your starting weight and your goal weight. Make sure to check the little box that says "Yes! Show my weight loss ticker"
The ticker will automatically update to your most recent weight BUT you must enter your weight for that day or week. You can do this by going to the "my tools" menu and clicking on "start" You will then see a box that says "weigh in & Other measurements" Click on the words "weigh in" and it will take you to a screen where you can enter your weight and "save measurements."
Your ticker will update automatically with this new weight!
Good Morning, Marilyn! I was SO excited when you emailed me that you had joined with Spark People. It's the GREATEST site online! I assure you that it has everything you will ever need to help you become healthier, happier, stronger and slimmer! Not to mention the friendships you will find and form here... Everyone is so supportive! It does take a rather big commitment in order to access the site. There is so much to read and so much to learn... I love it. I spend about 2-3 hours everyday blogging, messaging, planning our meals and gathering Spark Points! Welcome welcome welcome... Let me know if there's anyway I can be of help. Welcome to Spark. I've been here since Nov. 9 and have really learned a lot about myself, food, and exercising. I truly feel joining Spark was one of the best decisions I have ever made. One of the best tools is the nutrition tracker. You will be shocked when you enter a typical day's food! It helps keep me on track and I can adjust if I eat too much or too little. I also track my sodium and cholesterol intakes on it. Boy, that sodium is hard to keep low! I try to stay under 2300mg per day but the doctor told me to try to be closer to 1500. I don't think that's possible every day, not if you plan to eat! The fitness tracker also works for me. I find I do best if I walk between 1 and 1.5 miles every day. I do strength training for 20 minutes or a 25 minute chair aerobics video. (I have a painful leg -- so I walk OR stand to exercise, not both.) I set the strength exercise part of the fitness tracker to "track your own" rather than do the exercises programmed in for me. I can't do a lot involving my legs so I went through the exercise demos and selected ones I could do. I was really surprised at the workout the sitting aerobics DVD provides! I use leg muscles in my thighs that I'd forgotten I had! Take time to make lots of Friends and tell them when you reach a goal or are having a hard time. They are here with praise and support all the time! Don't be afraid to ask any question, no matter how silly you think it is. Take time to explore Spark. Read and respond to message boards, blogs, and other members' pages. The help, support, inspiration, motivation, encouragement, and friendship you will receive is awesome!
