Ready for a healthy lifestyle!!!!

I am ready to lose all this weight and be healthy. I'm 41 now, at my heaviest :( It makes me sad to know that I let myself get to this point in my life. But I'm ready to do something about it. I know that this is going to take a long time and will be hard, but I have to keep myself motivated. I have to do this for myself and my family.
I have fibromyalgia, lupus, IBS, anemia, and arthritis on my knees. This makes exercise so hard for me. My doctor wants me to loose weight. I have ...

Hi, after commenting on your blog, I thought of one more thing I wanted to suggest to you-a fellow Sparker's page- she's lost 185 pounds so far as best I can remember. Your inability to exercise much right now reminded me of her.
Here's her Spark address-
just copy & paste into your browser or search for INDYGIRL-

She's REALLY inspirational!!

I will second that welcome! I am glad to hear you are working with a nutritionist. Starting slow is truly the Spark principle, so that is good advice. As for exercises for challenging physical conditions, the fact that the chair exercises aren't easy is a good thing - you can reduce them to make them a bit easier and then build up. There are many, many exercise demonstrations on Spark People, so check out all the fitness videos. There are lots of folks who have disabilities who manage regular exercise and almost everyone says exercise improves your energy and strength and decreases fatigue and pain! Sure has for me, with a lot of arthritis (not to mention taking the weight off my joints!). This is a very supportive place so get rolling slowly and explore all the tools. Good luck. Feel free to check out my Spark Page or Spark mail me any time!

emoticon Welcome to Spark. You have taken the first step on your journey by joining!
I've been a member a little more than two years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained 30 back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. The sense of community and the friendships I have made here keep me going!
Explore the site, make your Sparkpage, join teams, and make friends. You will find this site an amazing place full of encouragement, inspiration, advice, and support.
Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
Good luck!
Sheila
