11-13: 183.0 [-1.8] Yes! Despite it being Radiologic Technology week and free food everyday... Planning and not overdoing worked!
11-20: 182 [-1.0] Finished wk 1 of Insanity! Was hoping for more but I'll take it!
11-27: 181.4 [-0.6] A loss on Thanksgiving week and week before TOM!!!
12-4: 182.8 [+1.4] Had a rough week. Was not diligent about my diet. Use food to cope and TOM as an poor excuse. Felt so out of it this week. But I've got my mojo back cuz there are 4 weeks left of this challenge and I'm gonna kill it!
Month 2 results:
Total lost: 2 lbs

Month 3 beginning weight: 182.8
My ultimate goal is to reach 175 lbs by New Years! I peaked at the scale today 12/6/11 and was 179.8. Whoohoo! It's so exciting to see a to see a 7 after the 1 instead of an 8!:)
12-11: 180.2 [-2.6] Yes! Plus finished mo 1 of insanity!!!

12/11/11: I just completed mo 1 of Insanity and boy was it insane! There are days when I am completely drenched in my own sweat and lying on the floor panting when the workout is over. This has by far been the most challenging workout that I have ever done in my life! This is a no excuse boot camp style of workout. Once you push play on that DVD player you know you are in for an extreme fat blasting workout. Even though it is challenging even for the fittest people, it is also motivating. Shaun T has a way of pushing you to where you never thought you could go before.

With Insanity I'm am beginning to see changes in my body that I have never seen before. I have lost 4.75 inches all over my body in just one month. My tummy has always been my problem area and now it feels like the fat is melting off my midsection and other areas are becoming more defined and toned. Even though there are days when I don't feel like working out, I suck it up and do it anyway. When I am finished working out, nothing compares to the high of endorphins running through my body and sense of accomplishment that I can hang with the big dogs! I committed to complete the entire 2 month program and there is no excuses or backing out allowed! Month two-bring it baby!!!

11/13/11: I just finished Turbo Fire 12 week program as of today! This is the first time that I have ever committed to a workout program and actually stuck through the entire thing. Before this, I would do videos every now and then and would always make excuses about why I could not work out on days that I work. I work 3-12 hour days at the hospital and have to drive 30 minutes back and forth to work plus take call. So you see how easy it was for me to use my work as an excuse with how busy I am. This time was different. I worked out no matter what. Even if it was 9pm, I always hit play on the DVD player. Now I am enjoying the benefits on increased energy, stamina, and endurance. I am challenging my body in ways that I never imagined. And I love it! Exercise has become an integral part of my life- something that I will not compromise on! Now that I have finished turbo fire, I am ready to challenge myself even further. I started Insanity by Shaun T. today and am ready to push myself even further and prove that I can do anything that I set my mind to. And get the insane body I deserve when I'm finished!

11/5/11: I am currently doing Chalene Johnson's 30 day push challenge on goal setting and prioritizing. My push goal for this year is to go 30 days binge free. And once I get through 30 days, I will do another 30 days and so on...

Update: 10/11/11 I'm currently using Turbo Fire as my primary workout program. I am on week 8 of the 12 week schedule. I also add in other work out classes, walk on breaks at work, and strength training. I absolutely love Turbo Fire. In just 2 months, my strength and endurance has shot through the roof! I am doing plyometrics and jumping higher than I ever thought imaginable. And I am having so much fun. The music is amazing!!!

Hi, I'm Angie. I have struggled with my weight and poor eating habits ever since I can remember. I have always used food in times of celebration, boredom, sadness, happiness, or just for something to do.

Ever since I was a child, I remember that scarfing my food down and having seconds was the norm. I always ate bread or tortillas with every meal and never drank water. I actually hated water! I had big glasses of Kool-Aid or pop all day. I remember coming home from the grocery store and having a bowl of cereal, a sandwich and chips, followed by supper all within the same hour. I don't even remember if I was even hungry!

Sadly, those habits continued into my adulthood. I would buy fast food, eat it in my car, and throw away the evidence so that no one new how much I really ate. I remember eating an entire pizza, a few bread sticks, and later that night having ice cream. I would be so full that my stomach would ache.

While I was in college in 2006, we had to practice taking blood pressures on each other. It was then that I realized my blood pressure was borderline high. I did not have insurance so I never went to get it checked out. In 2008, we had to practice again, and it was still the same. In college I was under a lot of stress, so I ate to deal with my feelings.

I finally decided to do something about it in November of 2009. With the help of sparkpeople, I was able to go from 210 lbs to 177 lbs from November 09 to May 10. Just by losing 10 lbs I was able to get my blood pressure down to normal. I was eating healthier, cutting out salt and exercising 6-7 days a week.

My downfall, however, was that I would cheat way too much. I would have a designated cheat day once per week and use it as an excuse to binge all day. Sometimes my cheat day would turn into a full blown cheat weekend. My cheat day was Saturday. I had it strategically planned to where I would weigh in on Saturday mornings and then cheat afterward so that I wouldn't have to update my gain on my tracker. I would then work really hard during the week to lose what I had gained and hopefully a little more. Some weeks I lost weight, however, most weeks I broke even. The only person that I was cheating was myself.

I graduated in May 2010, moved back home, stopped exercising and began eating out all of the time. My weigh crept back up to 196 this past December. I was so ashamed and I felt like a failure. I stopped sparking all together and didn't update my status or my ticker anymore.

I was so scared to be above 200 pounds AGAIN! Getting under 200 pounds was a huge milestone for me last year, and I knew that I had to do something before it was too late. I also knew that if I wanted to have children one day, now was the time to get healthy in order to avoid any complications during pregnancy.

I have tried many diets and read so many books on the subject. I was always looking for a quick fix, but I never had the intention of implementing those changes for the rest of my life.

I joined sparkpeople as a last resort. I knew that I needed a change in my life, and that I could never do it alone. I am ready to change in my life, and I know that it's going to be hard. I know that I am going to struggle and that I may even want to give up. But I am not going to give up! I am going to push through until I get to my happy and healthy weight. This is not a contest or a game to be won. This is my HEALTH and my LIFE! Every moment of this journey is a one that I need to embrace. I deserve so much more out of life that I've given myself. I deserve to be happy!

What did I accomplish in 2010? I lowered my blood pressure to 118/73 on Feb 2010. I went from obese to overweight in March 2010. I won $75 dollars at the Jazzercise weight loss challenge in April 2010. I ran a 10K in June 2010. I looked in the mirror and truly liked what I saw for the first time in years. I lost over 30 pounds (something I could have never done had I not found SP)!
