Life is magnificent!

Fall 5% Exercise Commitment
- Wear my Fitbit daily for six days/week
- Walk for 15 minutes daily - outside or in - no excuses
- Do the plank/glutebridges challenge in September - and whatever comes up in Oktober/November
- The 30 Day Shred (every other day)
- Should backpain or anything else leave me immobile: Yoga for the back and/or chairexercises

Fall 2014 - after a long break - here I am! And life is magnificient!
Starting over on all parts of my life: Housing, job, next goals and of course health. Some changes already run for months - and now health becomes top priority. Thriving, not merely surviving!

Ok, things I read and learned recently seem to point into one direction. Western civilization, as good as it is, leads to a mindset of getting more and more and that immediately.

We live our life and something is missing, so we buy something or eat something and try to fill the emptiness. Oh yes, we can pay with our creditcards, we can have it all - NOW.

But, what happens?
Our homes become cluttered, our bodies heavy and obese.

What do we want? A simple and instant solutiion. NOW.

But this doesn't work. In most cases there is no instant solution or instant gratification.

We have to work towards our goals, enjoy our rewards, go slow, step by step. Only this way we can be proud of ourselves.

Postponed reward, not because we are poor or can't afford it, but out of choice!

Just a question: Do we really need strawberries in January? What need will be fulfilled? What about waiting till it is their time and we can savor their flavor and know, that we waited for it and waited for the perfect and natural time. What a reward, what a joy!

My overall goals:
Be healthy, fit and flexible.
Make my business thrive.
Live in a pleasant environment.
Own what I need and let everything else go.

Yes, it is a time of cleaning, clearing and acting.
Does the sentence "I have to sort through that pile(s) of paper and have to file them away" sound familiar to you? Welcome to the club! This is the next big personal project, to work on that paper! One piece at a time, one pile at a time!

Why I want to loose weight?
It is more about making some lifestyle changes and making healthy choices.
To be able to walk longer distances and enjoy nature.
To have less pain or even become painfree in my back and my knees.
To feel better.
To move easier.
To honor life.

I enjoyed reading your page. It IS about lifestyle changes and your goals are so real. I just love them. I'm happy to add you as a friend too. I just wanted to thank you for the goodie and ended up reading a few blogs and your page as well. I get back pain.. and then have to move to the pool. Sciatica usually. I have stretches to help. Interesting that you found vitamin D helpful. Vitamin D is necessary to absorb calcium and calcium is what helps your muscles release after a contraction. Calcium is also needed for digesting protein so people on high protein diets use more. When we don't get enough calcium then it is taken from the storage units (teeth and bones). People who don't tend to drink a lot of milk (I am one of those) which is fortified with vitamin D, need to make sure they get their daily sunshine or take supplements when they are eating their alternate calcium sources (like sesame seeds and broccoli). Hahah, you got a rant rather than a comment. I hope that is OK. I like reading the SP success story article too. Shows me how far I have come when I am feeling like I still have so much to figure out. This is certainly the right place to do that. Glad so many things are working out for you! Justyna
