Healthy After 40

I had a baby in December 2009, and after struggling for two years, I finally lost all the "baby" fat thanks to SP. Prior to that victory, I rejoined in June 2012 with a lot of enthusiasm and commitment. I am still incorporating healthy eating practices, without becoming a dieting lunatic. My ultimate goals are to get into a healthy weight range and continue to achieve healthy eating and exercise goals.

My Goals:
My goal is to maintain this program for the long term and never stop focusing on good health. My quantitative goal is to get to a healthy B.M.I.

My Program:
My current pregnant program:
(1) Take prenatal or folic acid, whichever one you won't puke.
(2) Get 30 minutes of exercise or clean the house, 3x a week.
(3) Eat healthy foods, aim for 1800 to 2200 calories.
(4) Do yoga at least once a week.
(5) Make healthy food choices, despite cravings.

My usual:

*My goal is to eat 1700 calories a day. I was eating 1300 and was told that was too little, so I am trying something new.

*I work out at least five times a week, now, 30 to 60 minutes of cardio, 40 to 45 minutes of ST (I alternate muscle groups), and 20 to 30 minutes of ab work.

*I am also using the sauna every time I go to the gym for about 20 minutes.

Daily Goals:

(1) Make the best possible food choices or eat less than 1700 calories a day.

(2) Add good things into your diet.

(3) Stop eating when full, not stuffed.

(4) Exercise at least 60 minutes, at least 5 times a week. ST 5 times a w

Personal Information:
I am happily married and have a lovely four year old for a son. My husband is incredibly supportive and puts up with me experimenting to figure things out.

I am currently pregnant and struggling with not overeating (I didn't hardly eat at all during the first tri-mester and lost 30 pounds). I am hoping to curb the weight gain with more activity and food logging.

Well, my weight gain is still good. I gained 1 a pound this month. (Of course it helps that everything tastes awful.) So my goal now is to weigh no more than 175 by March, but I won't be able to do that if I don't get off my butt.

Enjoy your pregnancy. There'll be time for weight loss and exercise once the baby arrives. Don't stress yourself out trying to exercise - put it in perspective.
