Healthy After 40

I had a baby in December 2009, and after struggling for two years, I finally lost all the "baby" fat thanks to SP. Prior to that victory, I rejoined in June 2012 with a lot of enthusiasm and commitment. I am still incorporating healthy eating practices, without becoming a dieting lunatic. My ultimate goals are to get into a healthy weight range and continue to achieve healthy eating and exercise goals.

My Goals:
My goal is to maintain this program for the long term and never stop focusing on good health. My quantitative goal is to get to a healthy B.M.I.

My Program:
*My goal is to eat 1700 calories a day. I was eating 1300 and was told that was too little, so I am trying something new.

*I work out at least five times a week, now, 30 to 45 minutes of cardio, 40 to 45 minutes of ST (I alternate muscle groups), and 20 to 30 minutes of ab work.

*I am also using the sauna every time I go to the gym for about 20 minutes.

Daily Goals:

(1) Make the best possible food choices or eat less than 1700 calories a day.

(2) Add good things into your diet.

(3) Stop eating when full, not stuffed.

(4) Exercise at least 30 to 60 minutes, at least 5 times a week. ST 5 times a week.

(5) Drink water at work or home on weekends.

(6) Move all day, teach standing up, and get up every hour.

(7) Lenten Goal: Pray every day for 10 minutes/read scripture.

Personal Information:
I am happily married and have a lovely four year old for a son. My husband is incredibly supportive and puts up with me experimenting to figure things out.

I am considering getting a personal trainer to maximize my cardio.

At least you got a good 15 minutes in .That's great. Sometimes the more intense your workout is..it can burn more calories :) so feel.good about that 15 minutes of hard work :)

No More Gadgets - If I buy another gadget I'll have to purchase a house. I added a dehydrator and a juicer to my repertoire. As a matter of fact because of your detox programme - yes YOUR detox programme - I went and invested in a juicer. emoticon

Awesome work on the jogging! I spent a mint on shoes last week (at least by my standards... I am not a shopper). If I had inserts, my dog would eat them or bury them in the backyard, I bet! I hope you find them so you can keep your feet and knees feeling good.

I find that if I just write it down I tend to 'forget' how to do the pose or what exactly it is. So with the pictures it is perfect for me.
