Working towards my goal
I want to lose weight for my health. My family history is diabetes, high blood pressure, over weight and several other ailments. I know I have a great chance of inheriting these diseases but want to do everything I can to keep them at bay. I want to be able to do things, enjoy life as I get older so I'm dedicating the time to take care of myself now. I promise myself that I will become more healthy this year; through exercise and healthier eating. My new motto is 'eat to live not live to ...

My Goals:
Goal #1: Be more active and eat healthier in 2011, yay! Goal #2: Lose 8 pounds each month! Goal #3: To reach my goal weight of 140 by June 15, 2011. Goal #4: Chart my daily food intake and exercise. Goal #5: Participate in a 5K in the year 2011! I have always wanted to do so but am not all that confident I can do it so I 'chicken' out. Goal #6: Keep the weight off once I lose it!
My Program:
Step 1: Eat a low-fat, low-cal meal plan Step 2: Exercise 5 times per week (who cares what kind of exercise it is, just do it!!!) Step 3: Stretch 3 times per week

Other Information:
I love to sew, read, swim, garden and be out of doors during the summer. I ride a Harley (Sportster 1200C). I enjoy working out but would like to have someone to work out with and sometimes find it difficult to fit it in to my schedule (it takes me an hour to get to and from work and I work 9.5 hour days). I do much better working out with a partner but my husband doesn't like to and my daughters are too busy. My sister has started walking so I keep in touch with her so we can motivate each other. I enjoy that!
