Hi I'm Martha. I've battled my weight most of my adult life. It's been up and down - and really up and really down. I joined SparkPeople in 2009 and didn't do much with it. I got serious in March of 2012 and have lost almost 50 pounds. I'm really working to cross that 50 pound loss mark! And this time around, I'm losing the weight and keeping it off!!

Lose 55 pounds! Maybe 56, just so I hit an even number because I'm complusive like that.



My Program:
As part of the fall 5% challenge, I am committing to do all the things that helped me get this far: high protein/ low GI diet and exercise everyday, even if it is just a short walk around the block.

By exercise. I'll tell you one thing, you don't always have to be on the go. I sit around a lot, I read a lot, and I do watch television. But I also work out for two hours every day of my life, even when I'm on the road.

Thanks for the advice! My sister is a lawyer, too, and she is who I have discussed being Isabella's guardian if both my husband and I die untimely deaths. I thought there was maybe a paper they needed to sign or something, but I have learned since that it needs to be designated in a will. We don't have many assets yet, we haven't bought a house or anything yet. My sister suggested we wait to make a will until we buy a house and have something to will to someone! I am not sure what to do. Any ideas?

Thanks for the comment on my page--I have never even thought that such a thing as pumpkin chili existed either! The recipe seems pretty good (and easy)so I'm game to try it!
