I am passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle...SO much depends on it! Eating "clean" and exercise are daily routines. I have finally learned the difference between losing weight and maintaining weight loss. I celebrate the 2 yr anniversary of reaching my goal weight on June 15, 2013.

A big element of this success is being "authentic". Acknowledging my weight on a scale on a (somewhat) daily basis is a step toward accepting who I am and what all those mental health ...

Acknowledging my weight on a scale on a (somewhat) daily basis is a step toward accepting who I am and what all those mental health professionals tell us we must learn to do first: Love yourself. I know that struggle, the love-hate relationship with the scale, and have FINALLY come to realize and accept in my soul that "it's only a tool, it's only a number; it's not who I am; it's only one facet of the person I am." This definitely takes a re-wiring of the brain circuitry. Learning the skills to better my emotional intelligence has been life-changing and key to that smile on my face!

My Goals:
My primary goal is to be healthy. I've reached my goal weight, so now my challenge is to maintain it.

My Program:
My eating plan follows the Dukan diet - high protein and low carbs.
My typical exercise week:
Every day warm up with 30 min of treadmill or eliptical.
Monday: 60 min Dynamic (Art of Strength) strength training
Tuesday: 60 min Intensity (Crossfit) class
Wed: 60 min Dynamic (AOS) ST class
Thurs: Walk with friend and puppy dogs, hilly terrain about 70 min, then 60 min Intensity class
Fri: 60 min Intensity class (Challenge Day)
Weekends are for "playing": running with runner friends/family, or swabbing the deck of the houseboat, or swimming or skiing in the river, or hiking (looking for morel mushrooms), or chasing 2 yr old granddaughter :))... You get the picture!

Other Information:
I am loving Crossfit, the challenge -- to my weight lifting abilities, to my stamina, and the camaraderie -- working out with my DH, my friends who are on similar level with me and those experienced crossfitters who inspire me!
