We have a close family. Now before you go on thinking there's many, there is not. There is my Mother, my Father(technically my stepfather), and myself. I am married, but do not have any children. I am Bipolar I and do not believe I will ever have them due to this.

I always find the time for family. My Mother is ill with MD. My Father has survived 3rd stage prostate cancer, a triple bypass, and a recent blow to the lungs as well as other things more recently. We've found out he has Congestive Heart Failure, which he has almost died from in recent months. What a horrific experience. Also, two autoimmune diseases. One being Vasculitis and the other being Wagoner's.

He has been on Numerous medications. Some being brought back into stock from old days and thus he's also lost his hearing in one ear and 50% in another. He has recently been Sepsis, treated and survived. He has a MRSA virus that's got a hold of him, but the last report showed it was gone.

With the high powered medications, his kidneys have taken a blow. They were not looking too good at the start of these past few months, but now he's in end renal stage and on dialysis. The man has taken a lot, but he's still going.

My Mother, God Bless her soul. She has to deal with her own personal problems and can hardly walk due to her Muscular Dystrophy, but she's a tough woman. I asked her how she gets by and her response to it all was not to think about it all too much and just get by. If she can do it, more power to her. Whatever is working on her side, I wish her the best.

Then there's me. I most certainly packed on the pounds by not having an eating schedule. Well, honestly, I don't have one lately either. I get up and go. If that means I miss, I've missed. I have to make time, I know. Being on the type of meds I'm on really knocks me for a loop some days and I'm not my personal best. Sleep gets the best of me even if it is only 8 hours and I have to go pick my Dad up from dialysis. Then we quickly go for a bite to eat for he's starving afterwards. My clock is off, but I will eat breakfast then.

I get my meals in, but I have no set schedule. I also have medications now that put a couple pounds on every now and then. I fight them and I most certainly know how to eat, but life is tugging at me. My calendar is so full and the taxi is always going to a Doctor, to a therapist, or some form transportation for a loved one.

I don't mind it. It makes me stronger and let's me forget about me for awhile. Let's me forget about how manic I get or nasty I may become during this time of year and focus on the care of a loved one.

One thing's for certain, whatever it is you do, make the most of it. Take advantage of every moment you got. We're the only ones holding us back. And there may be no tomorrow to rectify what may be fixed today.

Hello, Marcy!
Thanks for visiting my page. I hadn't heard from you in a long while. I'm not on the bipolar team anymore. It was too negative for me. But, I miss you and all the friends there. Hope things are going great for you and you have a really great year. I have been doing lots of walking and it helps w/ the depression. I feel so much BETTER. Take care...
