Springing Forward!

Life is busy right now but we see a slower more relaxed future! :) I am a RN, married to a Retired USCG guy and we have 2 grown/almost grown kids. Our son is 26 and our "baby" is 17 and graduated high school this past June. We are planning a well deserved family vacation in August (haven't been on vacation in 8 years!) and both "kids" are coming (along with our son's soon to be fiance!) . Needless to say, I need to be able to walk and I want to be able to see all Disney has to offer b/c ...

My Program:
I want to make exercise and eating right a "habit" that I can keep up forever so I can be a good role model for my kids. I love a good challenge and tend to stay on track better if I have someone going through the journey with me.

Personal Information:
I am married w/ 2 grown children. I have lived in the same city for most of my life and LOVE our area. I work as an RN at a busy nurse advise/transfer center call center. It is challenging and different every day!

Hi Marci! I saw that you need some inspiration for getting in steps during cold weather. Here's what I do when it's too hot & muggy out. I walk the perimeter and then every aisle of large stores (Walmart, Home Depot, the library), I walk every nook & cranny of the mall, I take the stairs as much as possible (more steps than an elevator), I park as far as possible and finally, I pace while watching tv. Good luck in your trek to a healthier you! emoticon

YES!! I met a lady at the gym (2nd time I went this week!! :) ) that was talking about how she has been eating really well watching her salt AND sugar! Ugh! Put me to shame!! emoticon emoticon Let's eat fresh, healthy and in moderation! Let's be active emoticon emoticon emoticon and don't forget to drink up!! emoticon emoticon And for a reward, get your emoticon ! I'm going to try really really hard to do well. I NEED to feel like I'm making progress again. I've just eaten waaaay too poorly! emoticon We CAN do this! Just get the ball rolling any way you can! Good luck!
