The anti-inflammatory diet includes no dairy, no soy, no corn, no sugar or sweeteners except agave and stevia, no gluten. We were already gluten free due to DH's celiac disease so we haven't had to adjust to that too. No corn has been hard because that means no corn products which includes corn starch and no meat from corn fed animals. Actually that is sort of misleading because we can eat turkey and chicken but not beef or pork. She explained that, even though, turkeys and chickens eat corn, they don't wind up with marbleized fat like beef and pork.

So, we eat fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables. Canned is okay as long as there is no sugar. Same for juice. Protein includes turkey, chicken, fish (canned in water tuna is okay) but no shellfish and wild game meat is okay. Unsweetened nut milks -- we like Silk products. Most oils are okay except corn, soybean, peanut or palm. Nuts except peanuts are okay. Vinegar and spices are okay but no sauces, chocolate or extracts. Just water to drink. No eggs. Grains that are gluten free are okay.

It's a clean way of eating that's for sure. It is recommended that you eat three meals a day plus 2-3 snacks including protein each time you eat. A daily dark green leafy vegetable serving is also recommended.

I haven't made it to 7 yet. Have you gotten to 5? Mary sounds like someone you can really count on -- lucky you to have her in your life!!

I'm thinking of gong on the anti-inflammatory diet myself to see if it will help me feel better. I like fruits and vegetables. Will miss the clementines. I don't eat corn already. What else is on the diet?

I'm still working on five. Plus I've walked fewer steps. Mary is the only buddy that didn't cancel this week. I'm eating more with all the cold weather. It'll go to -13 tonight.

Thanks for the goodie!! All fruits and veggies are on the anti-inflammatory diet except oranges and corn.

Did you get to five? I'm still working on getting number seven. At least I managed to talk everyone out of giving me candy for Valentine's Day. That's a success right there.
