365 days

In October of 2012 I hit my goal weight for the first time in years. Not the first time, mind you, but it had been a while. One year later I had gained 70lbs and was the largest I have ever been. I can't tell you what happened. Since then I have waffled back and forth within 10lbs of my max but I haven't been able to lose any more than that. I've always been active. I've walked 7 half-marathons and a full marathon. I was averaging 20+ miles a week. Then, last November, the final straw. I developed a stress fracture in my foot. Probably from walking 20 miles a week when I was super obese. I was in a boot for two months but I kept going to the gym and did my 7th half marathon in March of 2014. That's when the pain started in my hip. By the end of May I was diagnosed with a stress fracture in my hip. I have been on crutches ever since. So, I figure I have a choice, I can give up and succumb to the weight or at least control my nutrition while I wait to be able to workout again. I love the show Extreme Weight Loss and every time he talks about what they are going to do with their lives over the next year. Today is my birthday. This time next year I hope to be at my goal weight and back up to half-marathon form. What will you do with the next 365 days?

I have a daughter and step-daughter who are teachers.
I think all teachers are the most important people in our children's lives. emoticon
