I'm MapMama7. I've always been athletic and enjoyed team sports. After lettering in 11 seasons in high school (basketball, field hockey, and track), I even played field hockey in college. But after having my first baby and putting on 70 pounds while pregnant, it was rough getting back in shape, especially without a coach and team mates encouraging me.

But after having my first baby and putting on 70 pounds while pregnant, it was rough getting back in shape, especially without a coach and team mates encouraging me.

I got into a great running routine (around 25 miles a week, mostly trails) in March 2013. I LOVE RUNNING. In November 2013 I developed a stress fracture in my right foot and had to take about 10 weeks off to let it heal. I gradually started upping my mileage and speed (after having gained about 15 pounds) before developing a Morton's Neuroma. I'm currently receiving treatment for the neuroma and am not permitted to run or walk vigorously, so I mostly swim laps with occasional strength workouts at home.

My current goal is to lose 10 pounds by tracking my eating and being consistent with working out (despite not being able to run).

Thanks for the welcome!

I'm a mom of three and a full time grad student. Running is my outlet, my stress management tool, my go-to form of excercise! I've done 3 half marathons and many 5Ks, but trail running with friends through the summer is my favorite kind of running.

Unfortunately, I suffered a stress fracture in my right foot at Thanksgiving (out on a run), so I am off running and any other impact sports until the middle of January. I don't like swimming, but I'm going to try to make the best of it and keep my cardio fitness up so that when I get clearance to run, I won't be starting over completely!

Next half I'd like to run is in March. We'll see if I'm able to get in shape soon enough!
