I moved to New York City in January 2010 to start grad school and my career (book publishing). I was too thin in high school, then gained too much weight in college--now I'm looking for moderation. My weight has been relatively stable over the last five years (150-155), but I've really been upping my fitness game and feel like I'm in better shape than ever, thanks to 5-6 weekly barre, spin, Pilates, or yoga workouts and walking a ton in NYC. However, my struggle is always diet: sometimes I get caught in the trap of "I work out, so I can eat whatever I want," which always catches up to me eventually! But I do ultimately believe in moderation and that there is a place for all foods in moderation in a truly balanced diet. So no, that bagel isn't the end of the world, but yes, it may help the scale creep up eventually... SparkPeople helps hold me accountable and be realistic about my nutrition trends. I've been on the site since 2009 and will continue using it to meal track and plan in the future!

5. Live & ENJOY a more active lifestyle in general.

1. Cardio 3x/week.
2. Strength 3x/week.
3. Eat more fruits/veggies.
4. Cook "real" food at least 1x/week. Microwaving a Lean Cuisine doesn't count!
5. Pack healthy meals/snacks for class/work. (The occasional Lean Cuisine is OK for this.)
