Keeping up with a Toddler

Time for an update. I fell off the wagon for awhile, went back to work for the first time in over two years. I am happy to say I did not gain back any of the first 20 lbs I lost when I first joined spark people in late 2010 though. But now I am back on the wagon so to speak and ready to shed the other 30 pounds of my original 50 that I wanted to lose.
I've been enjoying working out lately with a friend of mine who runs a fitness class and getting in great shape! So I am really ...

I've been enjoying working out lately with a friend of mine who runs a fitness class and getting in great shape! So I am really hoping to keep it up, show my son you can do anything if you want it bad enough. And want to be in swimsuit shape for the summer. :)

You go girl! Don't look at the scale today and dwell, look at all you have accomplished so far. Way to go on your success to date, keep on moving!

I'll be happy to be your online buddy! And I know what you mean about the gym - I was going to one before work but it was 18 miles away - once gas got to $3.00 a gallon, I couldn't afford to drive it anymore, so I'm working out at home.

If you love walking, I can highly recommend Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds workouts - easy, low impact, fun, and you can do it in your home! That's what I do!

Welcome to parents with infants up to 2 years! Being a mother is hard enough, let alone when medical issues get in the way! Some days are really hard and no matter what anyone says sometimes you just feel alone and trapped. But I hope you know that no matter what there are people on here who can relate and WANT to support you because one of us has been there! I have DEFINITELY been there! Between my second sons failure to thrive and me almost dying because of a deadly illness (all in the same time span) it was rough. You are a strong woman with a beautiful child! Keep your head up miss and know you have fellow Sparkies to help pull you out of the quicksand if it tries to pull you down!

emoticon Greetings and emoticon

In my experience, SparkPeople is like a emoticon in some ways - it's lots of fun and easy to make friends because we're all in this together. I like the way a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE is emphasized - it's about waaaaaay more than 'just' losing weight so you have definitely come to the right place!

There are tutorial videos under the HELP section that can show you how to use the features of the site.

If you haven't discovered The Spark book and/or the SparkDiet linked at the bottom of the START page, check them out - the program is simple but extremely effective. There is a TON of information on this site - so much it might even seem overwhelming but fortunately we don't have to 'digest' everything at once! The FastBreak program is a good way to start.

Another nice thing about SparkPeople is that we have permission to be human - we don't have to change everything at once or be in a hurry to reach our goals. Take a few baby steps and then a few more and before you know it, you'll have completed a long journey - I hope you enjoy this community as much as I do - it teaches us how to make positive lifetime changes because that's the only thing that will work over time!
