ManassasMa is a LOSER! (Yay!)

I've decided that 2008 will be "My Year of PROMISE".

To this end, I've also determined that I will:

Goal # 1: Lose those 40 lbs. that have been plaguing me for much too long now;

Goal # 2: Quit smoking (my 40+ year addiction); and

Goal # 3: Stop grabbing for the wine bottle (or box) every time my soon-to-be-22 year old daughter makes what I KNOW is the wrong "life decision".

*****

I don't have any pics of myself ...

I don't have any pics of myself to post. I think the last time I allowed a pic to be taken of me was sometime in the 1980s (you know, when there weren't any computers).

So the pics I'm posting are of my Daughter (and a couple of actors/actresses from one of CBS's "daytime dramas" -- long story there).

At the same time, isn't she just BEAUTIFUL?!

My Program:
Goal # 1: to use SP's Nutrition Tracker RELIGIOUSLY to plan meals/menus and register results; to increase cardio activity from near 0 to "at least something";

Goal # 2: To (a) diminish my original, self-determined cigarette "allowance" (2 packs/day) by 1 every 3 days; (b) count out the cigarettes I am "allowed" the night before and put these -- and ONLY THESE -- into the 2 packs I still require while "hiding" any/all others I have in the house; (c) use a pocket timer to assist me in regulating and combating my nicotine "triggers" (if/when I succumb, I immediately re-start the timer); and (d) develop the habit of chanting "Nope, Nope, Nope" instead of relying on the timer.

Goal # 3: QUIT DRINKING! For the time being, I'm "just determined" not to buy any more wine. And, so far, that seems to be working for me. At the same time, I'm aware of the weekly AA meeting just down the block, just in case.

My real name is JoAnn.
