MAMMABEAR-THIRY

I am married, my husband and I are both diabetic and have sleep apnea. We have 9 kids between us and currently have 5 grandkids. I am struggling with lots of health issues recently (diabetic, sleep apnea, overwieght, stabbing pain in lower right leg with pins and needle sensations, pain shooting through leg when touching just below the knee, bulging discs in lower back) needless to say I have several issues which make it difficult to do exercises to help with the weightloss program.

LOOKING FORWARD TO 2010:
Over the last 13 months I have lost 54 pounds. I have dropped at least 2 pant sizes and am wearing pants that I haven't warn since sometime in 2006. The pants that I was wearing are so big that they almost fall off me and I can take them off without unbuckling them. I have noticed that my fasting blood sugar numbers have decreased which is a good thing and hopefully can decrease the amount of medicine I am taking for my diabetes. January 2010 weight and measurements are as follows:
weight: 245.2
waist: 44"
hips: 51.6"
neck: 15.5"
thigh:
BMI: 42.1

Hey there, I have not been on here much lately and let me tell you I can tell a huge difference when I am not counting my calories ugh. I need to get back on track.

I saw your post on my page. So yes, it is very exciting when the girls win there games. Right now our team is in the number 1 spot or 2nd but I am pretty sure we are first place. We have 4 wins and 3 ties.

on April 1st my daughter got hurt at one of the games the ball was kicked by her teammate and it flew up and hit her in the ribs on the right side. It knocked the wind out of her and she fell to the ground. She was in tears from the pain. We ended up having to take an ambulance to the hospital because we were not sure if the ribs were broken or cracked. After we got to the ER and she had as CT Scan everything was good no broken or cracked ribs. She had a contusion to the rid tissue though and that was just as painful we were told. She was out for a full week of school which was fine, on April 2nd a Monday one of her teammates called her and told her she made the school team. Yay!!! we were so excited. So yes now she plays for the city recreational soccer and for the school. She practices Monday-Thursday for the school until 5:30pm and then on FRiday nights she has a game for the school and SAturday and Sundays are games for the city. She has no time off right now from soccer and she is signing up to play the tournament games on May 17th weekend.

Sounds like you had a very busy schedule this last few weeks with work and soccer. Hope you are all rested up now.

Glad you got the support team started, and I know how hard it is to keep it going; been there! Dont give up, because once the men/ come home they will need just as much support to know where to get help, esp with PTSD and you will see a lot more of that than real desperate injuries! I know many will say they will be there at the meetings , but come once, and don't like what they see or feel or hear , and quit! But dont give up, because they will need to know how to deal with the many problems these soldiers will face and need to know where to get help; they will need direction in getting that help. Many will come to a meeting where they know someone (whose been thru similar stuff) and knows about their problems and will feel less stress coming to a friendly face than to a shirnk. Good luck and hope you have the stamina to keep it going! Its good that Red Cross is giving you a hand! They been there! Giev your self a pat on the back for being concerned and sensitive to others needs. (Wont find that in the secualr world as much as oyu do the religious sector). susana

Thanks for stopping by my page and responding to the blog I posted on of yours about soccer.

We had our first game last Saturday and the girls WON!!! I was so surprised by this because it was the first time the girls had all be together and they really only 1 real practice the night before the game. There second game was on Sunday and they ended up leaving with a tie. I told my daughter hey you guys won your first game and you didnt loose this one and they didnt win either so you guys are still doing awesome.

The uniform issue was resolved they are ordering uniforms now but they had extra uniforms so my daughter does at least have something to wear now.

Now my daughter has decided to go out for the soccer team at school. There are 30 girls trying out and only 22 slots. She missed the first day of tryouts because she was sick. They let her still tryout and tomorrow is the last day for tryouts so should know by tomorrow if she makes the team or not. Fingers crossed and prayers please. She is so looking forwarded to playing on the school team this is a dream of hers and she missed it last year because of grades.

HOpe you have a great weekend. emoticon
