I seem camouflaged by the mural! Cuzco Feb 2007
summer 08 in Bretaña
Jose, Rut, Vicky, Tito...almost constant companions, FAMILY, in Lima.
I didn't mind being "gordita", but my doc said I should lose the weight for health. I am post menopausal, married 37 years before my husband passed away in Feb of 2011. He loved me the way I was and so do the people I've come to know and love during my mission trips. I am not trying to impress anyone, but I want to be around for my grandkids and for my extended family in Peru
People can see more pix - and videos - at Photobucket.com. My album is mumz2you. and follow my mission trips in Peru at http://shelley-perunews.blogspot.com/
To reach and stay around 180, maybe even as low as 160 if possible, SOME time within 2014. I may never be able to fit into my 40 year old wedding dress, but I can at least hope to be fit and healthy for my remaining years of service.
My daughter, Abi, and I are in this together, by changing our eating habits and developing an exercise habit.
I was born in Texas, but I''ve lived in Rochester most of my life. I became a Christian my senior year of high school (Spencerport class of ''71) and met Ansel at an Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship retreat during my 2nd year at SUNY at New Paltz. We married less than a year later (Oct 27, ''73) and after losing our first child went on to have 3 others - Abi (12 -77) Ben (8-83) and Cassie (10-86). Ben married October '06 .Abi has given us our first 2 grandchildren-and yes, by the same man!Our son Ben gave us a granddaughter, Penny, in Sept 07 and grandson Jack in February 09! My husband Ansel passed away in February of 2011, but the Lord united me with a wonderful Peruvian man in August of same year, Levi Utia. We tried to have a civil ceremony either here or there. But we encountered so many obstacles. I don't know if or when we'll ever be able to marry, but for now Jesus Christ is uniting us.
I've made 10 mission trips to Peru, and will gladly explain how I became involved to anyone who has ears to hear! I have "second homes" in Pucallpa, Lima, Chiclayo, and Iquitos (just wish I could go more often) and I have cultivated some very close friendships there.
Anyone interested in seeing photos and videos from my trip in June-July 07 and to Machu Picchu in Feb of 07 can see them at the Photobucket.com album under mumz2you . I have two blogs - the bilingual : http://hermana-shelley.blogspot.com/ and my 'Perunews" http://shelley-perunews.blogspot.com/ where I have blogged about my most recent trip - complete with photos. Stop by and read all about it! I will try to update the photos in my gallery, so stop by again!

I recovered and went to Raystown Lake and to Deep Creek Lake Sunday after church. We came home this morning, but we have enjoyed these trips immensely.

I hope to get out there today and put the seed tape that I made into the soil. The Pro Pools people came yesterday and opened the pool. Whatever was put into the water or the brushing the man did, caused a lot of leaves and seeds to surface. We have had to empty the skimmer about every three hours there is so much debris in it.
We are to backwash it today and he said it will take at least three days before we see any clearing of the water.

I rested for about two days. My legs, the calves and thighs were so sore. I eased back into going to the basement and climbing the steps, but I am doing well now. I hope you are well. We are to have a day without rain today and temperatures in the 80's. The pool people will be here tomorrow, be the Lord willing.

I wanted my son to grill my chicken breast without barbecue sauce, but he put it on all of the pieces. My son, his fiancee and my husband had baked potatoes and salad, but I had already eaten all that I should have eaten for the day. I had the chicken and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
I was very sore in my legs today from weeding. I also scrubbed the side porch with Simple Green, but it didn't remove the grease spot. I read where Lestoil will remove grease on concrete, but I don't have any on hand.
I think I will buy a cheap aluminum pan and stick the leg of the grill onto the pan and let the grease drip. It would be a lot easier to deal with that way.

At the price we were charged for those worms, they should have had something extra, lol!
