my friend theresa who now lives in texas was to visit and i recieved a call she was in icu. being diabetic her urinary tract infection had went bad. she had coded twice and i had been praying hard for her recovery. as she got better i continued to pray for her and for help for myself to lose weight too. i didn't want to become diabetic and suffer like she has. after praying, i knocked off the sofa a FIRST magazine i had just bought. when i bent over to pick it up.... it was open to a page with ...

No~ Szuka's cyst was on her eyelid. I thought it was a sty. Easily removed. I guess terriers are known to get those as well~ high maintenance..lol

Sam will be 7 this year and Szuka will be 5~ and she still turns her head that way when you talk to her, too. So similar in behavior and looks.

I did not know about the their teeth being different. However, I do know their "legend" as my family still lives in Scotland and found it:

" How the Westie came to be selectively bred for their white coat has an interesting legend. The short legged terriers of Scotland are undoubtedly all descended from the same roots. All of these dogs were valued as intrepid hunters of small game. Colonel Malcolm, Of Poltalloch, Argyllshire, Scotland is generally credited with breeding the white dogs true. He kept a pack of light coloured working terriers for hunting. As legend goes, a reddish dog of his, emerging from cover, was mistakenly shot for a fox. Malcolm is said to have decided on the spot to breed only white dogs that could be readily identified in the field. "

This explains why the go CRAZY when they see squirrels and shriek so loud that my ears almost explode. Okay, slight exasperation, but very loud~ Mine too are spoiled rotten.

What a horrible experience! I forgot Szuka, my girl baby had a cyst on her eye, too. They cut it off when they got their teeth done.

Thanks for the heads up about booda bones. I have never heard of them. My vet told me to steer clear of greenies. There have been many posts about them, as well, so be careful.

Have you had your babies teeth cleaned professionally? I had mine done last week and let me tell you, I will NEVER do that again! They were so out of it from the pain medication and anesthesia, they were walking side ways when they could walk.. I was almost in tears and I'm and RN!!!!! Their teeth do look better. My vet said terriers are prone to get tartar build up and suggested there were enzymes I could put in their water. Do you give your babies anything for that?
