I lost quite a bit of weight on the South Beach diet a couple of years ago for my friend's wedding - of course it all came back on, but I felt pretty good about myself on this day.





Here I am, on the far right, 1 year exactly after the wedding...like I said, I plumped up again. I just look so THICK in the middle...

My Goals:
Tone up, get rid of some flab, try not to resemble an apple with appendages and a head....T-minus 2 years and 3 months until my 40th birthday - I would like to start that new decade of my life with a body I truly love.

My Program:
Just trying to make healthy food choices and track my food here on Spark (it really does help) and right now, trying new things to increase my fitness level. I am also currently reading The Spark, and really feel like I'm finally "getting it".

Personal Information:
Originally from Canada, but spent most of my life in the Northeast, which presents a challenge what with the urge to hibernate for approimately half the year.

Other Information:
I am a bookworm through and through - my favorite quote is by Cicero, "A room without books is like a body without a soul" - I apply that to my own living space. :)

Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. I was thinking about the plateau as well, and I just broke through one two months ago I didn't expect another one this soon. I am going to try using my new calorie numbers and see how it goes. It is just a hard concept...eat more to lose more....hummmm lol. Also, I am going to have a talk with my daughter and try to get a feel for how she really feels about it. She suffers from depression and anxiety, which is worsened by this weight gaining and I don't want her to feel unsupported. I will keep everyone posted on what I am going to do. Thanks for your insight!

howdy! I am originally from Pittsford NY so for me to run the local marathon was a big home coming for me. Kinda symbolic to bring the battle to the hometown. The marathon is sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation and usually runs around September. A big part of the race is run along the canal towpath.

I use resistance bands and I think maybe the band is too heavy. Use a lighter weight for now and as you get more muscle you can go to that. I do the Seated 20 minutes RB for my regular workout and that has given me more strength and rockin bi-ceps for this old lady. Keep at it challenges are great motivators Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon
