Midlife wakeup call

Hi, I live in the central valley of California and after living away from home for over four years for work, now have a job close to home. Now the challenge is to not continue gaining weight with my new less active job.

2015 is going to be the year I rekindle my passion for running.

I am looking at some destination races at the end of 2015 and am only allowing myself to go if I run the races. I hope that motivates me to train.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing." - Adidas

Oh how I thank you for commenting on my status. I am so beyond bummed on how it just gets worse each time. I ALWAYS have that Dory in my head too! ;)

I run as slow as I possibly can, just shy of it looking like I am walking...but my body says it wants me to WALK. I run then my heart rate starts getting higher, and my breathing can't get controlled, then my chest starts hurting, little by little....

All I want is to have aid stations on my run so I can pour the water over my head like I do when racing! I run so early that there is NO WHERE open to stop in and wet myself or anything else. Plus where I run..there is barely any places anyways.
