Shared Food Tracker
Hi..my name is Sharon and I live in Central Florida. I'm a ten year lung cancer survivor and a five-year kidney cancer survivor. I feel eternally grateful that the good Lord has seen fit to keep me around a while longer. I also underwent total right knee replacement in January 2011. That was huge and not something I want to do again.
I've had a couple of rough years with major back issues, lots of pain, and very little exercise because of it. I had a laminectomy two years ago which took care of the sciatic pain, but the lower back is full of arthritis/stenosis. I've been going through a series of back injections which helps for a little while. However, it's not much more than a band aid.
I went to my 55th class reunion last summer which was quite an eye-opener. Many of my classmates have already passed on so I feel blessed that I'm still here. I haven't been very fair to God though; He who has kept me here for a reason. I talk the talk, but certainly don't walk the walk. If I intend on being here in another five years I have to get serious. Knowing that I'm in control and always have been is the eye-opener I was looking for. I found it and now I have to do something about it.
So, this is it! No more kidding around and I'm not giving up. I'm on a campaign to lose enough weight to at least be healthy and walk the walk.
My goal is ultimately to get healthy; one day at a time, one pound at a time. If I trip and stumble, I will get back up and start again.
I will use SP as a food planner/tracker along with sensible eating. No more cheating or making bad choices. I have no idea what I'm going to use for cardio and strengthening but will come up with something soon since I have to get moving.
I will track daily and blog once a week.
I'm interested in many things. I love to pen pal and I write to 21 ladies all over the USA. I'm also Queen of a Red Hat Society chapter. I also enjoy counted x-stitching, ceramics, a little gardening, travel, reading, stage shows, and figure skating (watching it). I've lived in Montana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Virginia, and now Florida. I've been married twelve years to my old high school steady which has been a lot of fun. He's a great husband. We share six adult children, nine grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters. We're both retired and living the good life.
I'm an aspiring author and just published my third novel, "A Time to Reboot," the second book in the Stony Creek Series. I'm working on the fourth and fifth books. My first novel, "Detours of the Heart" was published in September 2009 and has done very well. My second novel, "Stony Creek Diner" was a big success and published in 2012. I've also written a few short stories; one published. I belong to a photographers club, book writing workshop, the Write Corner,The Florida's Writers Association, Romance Writers of America, Writers League of the Villages.
