Riding Mr. D & Trigger
Then & Now 40 years later!
On top of Old Smoky Overlooking what is called the "Jump off".
Hello - I turned 62 in January 2015 and I have been married to my husband (Poppy) for over 46 years. We have 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 silly little dog named Bingo, and a cat named MilkyWay. Also lots of squirrels, foxes, birds...but all those are in the woods...so far! I enjoy the sound of rain on a tin roof, I love thunderstorms and take pictures of lightning. I love walking in the falling snow with hubby. I need to watch my weight which I plan to do by Walking and watching what I eat. With your help I will continue to accomplish this. I love the Lord and love to share his love and grace with others.
To loss weight and stay on a good healthy exercise program with the Spark Family in mind.
I plan to write in a journal what I eat and keep track of a walking program. I love to walk. I used to when I was younger and by doing so I could eat anything. I plan to keep learning as much as possible from Spark family members and how they reach their goals as well.
I am from the East Tennessee area in the Smoky Mountains (Dolly's Country). I am a retired Editor/Publisher. We also owned a commercial printing company but have recently turned it over to our son. I also have taught many photography classes. My husband and I were missionaries in Kenya, East Africa once and lived on a Coffee Plantation. We have 4 children, one which we adopted when she was 14 from Romania. She is now 39. We have 6 grandchildren: grandson (Jaden) who is 13 years old, grandson (Matthew) 7 years old. Three little gr'girls, 6 year old Emma, 4 year old Lexi Annabell, 4 year old Mili, and a new grandson, 2 month old Tommy. Our children range in age 45, 41, 40, & 39. We have 1 dog. A 4 year old Rat Terrier named Bingo. And a female cat named MilkyWay.
I love to cook, cross-stitch, write short (true stories) of my youth, do crafts and be creative. I love old classical movies, vintage and antique stuff, Old magazines. My favorite movies are, "It's a Wonderful Life", "You Can't Take it With You", "Late For Dinner", & most recently "Miss Potter" and "The Notebook". I love Rain on the roof, a walk in the falling snow at midnight with hubby, dance by the light of the moon and dance under the stars beneath African skies.

Hey, Marty, it's Slinkiecat, email firstname.lastname@example.org. i miss hearing from you, and hope your transition from a successful businesswoman to retirement is smooth. We had to make that change too, and know it can be stressful.
God bless you, and may he help you all the rest of the way through your life.

TO ALL MY SP PEEPS: I can't believe it's summer already (this weekend). It's been a long trying year with family health problems, staying at hospitals with family, my brother-in-law was in a coma for 2 months, my mother-in-law's death on Feb 15th, and the death of a niece in March, then my mama in April passing away on Easter Sunday. Getting all the loose ends to funerals and probate taken care of. Hopefully life in 2012 will smooth out the rest of the year. We did sell the business property to the church behind us - all final first of May. We have until August to find another location for our son to continue the printing business as HUBBY and I sorta retire from that portion. We will try to continue the newspaper as an internet news source as soon as we get our website finished. Seems that is the direction all newspapers are headed now-days (sad but true). Just plan to take one day at a time now. think I need a cruise or something!

Thanks for the roller skates. I really miss skating. I’m taking my skates back to Baltimore and use them when I visit dad… hope the bones don’t break when I do my graceful fall… check your email.
We’ll get through this. What’s the prognosis on your BIL? Did I ask that and get an answer and not remember? This getting old thing is getting old.
Love you bunches and thanks again for the roller skates. Jack E
