Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
Hi Everyone, i'm new & not sure what to write here but maybe i'll just start with this. My name is Maggs, i'm 47, and live in the south east of England. I married at the age of 20 and had always been fit & healthy. I kept pretty active when i was younger & had no problem stuff ing my face with as many cream cakes as i wanted ( And i did ! ) without putting on any weight, untill i hit the BIG 40 !!!! Not sure where the fit & forty went but the fat & forty definitely arrived. Last year i gave up smoking & managed to keep off the ciggy's for 9 months but that didn't help things as the weight just piled on, so now i'm stuck with two vice's as not only am i overweight by 2 stone but i'm also back on the fags as well !!
Unfortunately Arthritis has now started to kick in and exercising isn't as easy as it use to be, but as the saying goes " No Pain No Gain" so i stick at it. I'm determind to get down to a weight of 8 stone (give or take a few pounds) and have started by exercising 3 x a week, trying to eat healthier & making a point of not even looking at a cream cake !!!!
I've never joined anything like this before so it's all new beginnings for me but this site looked realy good for inspirations & tips etc and with all the support people seem to give each other i'm hoping that it will somehow help me get back on track.
At the moment i want to lose as much weight as i can before the start of my holiday in April, i want to fit back into that bikini !!! My overall goal though is to shed at least 28 pounds
My program at the moment is 60 minute workouts 3 x a week, which hopefully my joints will hold out & i'll increase on that as time goes on. I'll be cutting out any junk food for more fresh fruit & veg so I'll be checking out the Sparks recipes pretty soon.
My name is Maggs, i'm 47 & will have been married to Richard for 28 years in July 08. Sadly no children but we do have 10 niece's & nephew's, 3 Great niece's & nephew's and umpteen godchildren who keep us active, and out of pocket ! We also had a faithfull springer spaniel dog called Sheppy which we'd had from a puppy but sadly she passed away recently at the ripe old age of 16 & has left a big hole in our hearts.
TV & Films, i like thrillers & comedy's, i also have an interest in forensic science ( not everyone's cup of tea !) I have numerous hobbies with the main one being geanology but i also like doing crossword & sudoku puzzles & have recently taken up oil painting. I love football & i'm a keen supporter of Chelsea FC

Hi Maggs, sorry haven't been on here in awhile. Work keeps me pretty busy. Getting ready for my son's wedding 6/28, and then two weeks vacation! I so need one, very tired lately. Hope things are well with you. Cheryl

Hi Maggs, Thanks for stopping by my page. Glad you are finding SP so helpful. My husband & I both get so much out of it.
Never fear, you will reach your goal and, once you have done that, you will be able to give up the dreaded weeds. I gave up a year last October. Just had a cold one day and for the first time in my life, I realised that I didn't want a cigarette. ( normally I would have carried on smoking whether I had cold, flu, sore throat or whatever) I haven't touched one or even fancied one since & considering I had smoked at least 20 - 30 a day for the last 30 odd years, that's pretty good I think. You really have to be ready to give up, once you are, it will be a lot easier.
