Finally Making the Change

I'm 26 years old, and I have been a vegetarian for 15 years and a vegan since June 2009. Lately I have had a hard time sticking to the vegan diet as strictly as I used to...I seem to have a major weakness for cheese pizza! My goal in 2012 is to get back to being completely vegan.

I love running, but am coping with a serious hip injury so it is slow going. I also do the weight circuit at the gym and dvds at home.

My diet is a modified version of the Weight Watchers core plan, because I am vegan - no meat, dairy, or eggs.

I have a son who is in 1st grade.

Thank you so much for responding! My child is only 3 years old [he's in early preschool] so he isn't quite old enough to make his own decision whether or not to go veg, so I've been so confused about what to do.

I know you probably seriously hear this all the time, are you ever concerned about getting enough protein? From a couple sites that I have read, it says that I need about 100g of protein a day for my weight. That is ALOT and I don't know how to even begin to get that much. Do you think that it's necessary for that much?

Any suggestions are welcomed! Thank you! :)

I am soooo glad I stumbled across your page! I have just made the decision to become vegan, so it's nice to have support and I too have a child in preschool. :) Are you raising your child vegan as well? If so, has it been a challenge? Thanks!
