In control of my weight, in control of my life!

I have had minor issues with my weight most of my adult life. This has been mostly due to self-esteem issues I have had. As a group fitness instructor and personal trainer, I have always KNOWN what to do, but haven't always had the inspiration or motivation to do so. The tools here at Sparkpeople take away all my excuses. I need to be at a healthy weight not just to be a good role model for my clients, but also to be more confident and enjoy life to its fullest. I deserve it, and SO DO YOU!

My Goals:
My weight on 2/13/12 was 167. I met my initial goal of weighing 140 or less (I weighed 135) for my 30th HS reunion, which was 7/14/12. Since then, I have wavered and been consistent with my exercise, but less consistent with my eating. I am now 145 lbs and am taking it one day at a time.

My Program:
After pinching my sciatic nerve on 2/13/11, I was frustrated by the pain, the weakness, and loss of balance. While the pain has largely resolved itself, issues remain with my weakness and balance. I have to tread carefully with my exercise program, so proper nutrition is even more important than ever! In addition to fitness classes that I teach, I try to make sure I do at least 15 minutes on the stair mill 3 times per week, a modified strengthening program on opposite days, and walking EVERY day.

I am a personal trainer and group fitness instructor in Tucson, AZ, and encourage all my clients to take advantage of all the features Sparkpeople.com offers. Like my clients, I need help with accountability, so I have invited my clients to "spy" on me!
