My Goals:
i would like to lose 5-10 pounds so it will be easier for me to run and climb hills on my bike. I am pretty active and most of my leisure includes cycling, working out, hiking. I want to be better able to keep up with the guys.
l did a 1/2 iron man distance aquabike last year, now i am motivated to to the 1/2 IM this september, so am looking at training programs to increase my running.

My Program:
OW swims 2x per week, brick on wednesday(bike run) and run at least 1 other time ideally total of 3xper week. bike 2-3 x per week, hopefully one ride is a mtb ride 1-3 hours if the trail conditions are good.

i hope to do 2 or more tris/xterras per month through the summer.

i track my calories and try to stay around 1300 per day, but flex as needed to keep calorie deficit below 1200 calories on a work out day.

i increased my protien intake and have a protien shake daily to curtain my tendency to get off work and eat a bunch of carbs. i also try to eat 5 fruits and veg per day(vs eating junk carbs). i drink a lot of water.

Personal Information:
i have been doing primarily sprint tris, i am hoping to work up to an olympic distance race next year, so need to work primarly on my running.

i live outside of cleveland ohio. i like to do mostly any out door activity-bike, hike, xc ski, lake swimming, running, mountain biking.

have an active sign. other, he keeps me going.

i have two kids that are in college.

Best thanksgiving wishes. I will be at Idutri in Berea tomorrow (black friday) and we are some people riding 25 miles afterwards.

Went to Rob Reddy's first swim meet in Oberlin yesterday.I think I that will give me some good training for my swim (MY weakest discipline)

i am not sure if i am to repond here or on your page. so i'll put it here. i feel like i have the base and dont worry about the swim and the bike. the run...i have done a few 8 mile walk 10, run 1 and felt pretty good, aside from still working out some issues with blisters, but its much better.
my biggest concern is the run. i did a 26 mile (17.5mph)bike the other day, drank one watered down gaterade bottle and ate one gu, then got off and ran, i felt pretty light headed/dizzy for the 1-1.5 miles. i think i needed to take in more calories on the bike. during the rev i plan to take a gu every 45 mins on the bike so 4oo-500 gu calories and plus heed in my bottles and enduralytes. so it should be around 900 calories on the bike.

i am still working out nutition for the run. the will have gu and gatorade endurace on the course. i have done okay with watered down gatorade, i do have a fuel belt i have been running with, and feel comfortable. it has 2 bottles, so i wouild eventually have to switch to gatorade anyway.
i am hoping to finish in aroiund 7 hours. my running pace has been 12 min miles for just plain running. so if i am 12-15 min miles i wont be surprized. i have one more long run for monday, just 6 miles. i plan to try some different socks and use full strength gaterade in my bottles and see what happens!
