My daughter and I.
Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
I have been gaining and losing all my life. I was a chubby kid, but I lost some weight in high school and even more later on in my early 20's. Then I gained it all back and plus. Later on, when I got married, both my husband and I joined Weight Watchers and lost a significant amount of weight (about 50 lbs. each). Unfortunately, my husband died in April 2002 and I became a single parent over night. To complicate things even more, my child has special needs, so I am often stressed and "treat" myself to so some not so healthy snacks. I am very much an emotional eater. If I have a bad or stressful day, I just reach for the cookie or two or .....
Anyway, I would like to lose weight in order to feel healthier and more energetic. I have found out that I don't sleep so well and get tired much easier. I love walking, but living in the New England region does not make it easy to walk all year round. Actually, I am seriously thinking about moving down South just to get the benefit of milder winters. I walk sometimes at the mall, but I am somewhat sensitive to all the scents and perfumes that some stores use.
I know how important it is to have a buddy (-ies) when trying to lose weight. When my husband was alive we supported each other. Now, I am doing it alone and it is not working.
My goals are simple:
1. get healthy
2. improve my self-esteem
3. be happy
4. fit into my skinny jeans:-)
I am watching my snack habits. I am buying more fresh produce and replacing sweets with delicious fruit (mango is my favorite). The nice thing is that when I eat good so does my DD. Kids are really watching us....
I am so ready for spring. I love walking but it is not possible with the winter we are having.

Dropping by to say hi and wish you a blessed day and weekend ahead, also want to say for all the times you have dropped by my blog and left your kind comments, they are always appreciated!
With spring just around the corner I thought this was a perfect time to share this Poem about springtime. Hope you enjoy....
When the gloomy gray sky turns to clear azure blue,
And the snow disappears from the ground,
When the birds start to sing, and our moods start to lift,
Then we know Spring is coming around.
When the first flower bulbs poke their heads toward the sun,
Golden daffodils, hyacinths, too;
When the brown grass turns green, and the wildflowers bloom,
Then sweet Spring makes its showy debut.
Once again we awake from cold winter's pale dream,
As our minds and our bodies revive;
We rejoice and delight in spring's colorful sight;
Each new spring makes us glad we're alive!

Today is Sunday, a day of rest, relaxation and time to refuel for the week. Yet, many people are stressed out. According to our life instruction manual, the Bible, we need to rest today. I am hoping that you are doing just that.
We have a full week ahead of us. If we are rested it will be a much easier week. Besides that, we will make better decisions, have more patience and most of all, enjoy our week a lot more.
If your not resting, please take some time to so. It is a way to take care of yourself, as well as showing others that you see yourself as someone of value and worth.
Have a wonderful week. Enjoy your time of resting and give yourself lots of TLC today because you are so worth it.
a day to rest & enjoy your day!!
