To better health
I have been gaining and losing all my life. I was a chubby kid, but I lost some weight in high school and even more later on in my early 20's. Then I gained it all back and plus. Later on, when I got married, both my husband and I joined Weight Watchers and lost a significant amount of weight (about 50 lbs. each). Unfortunately, my husband died in April 2002 and I became a single parent over night. To complicate things even more, my child has special needs, so I am often stressed and ...
I have been gaining and losing all my life. I was a chubby kid, but I lost some weight in high school and even more later on in my early 20's. Then I gained it all back and plus. Later on, when I got married, both my husband and I joined Weight Watchers and lost a significant amount of weight (about 50 lbs. each). Unfortunately, my husband died in April 2002 and I became a single parent over night. To complicate things even more, my child has special needs, so I am often stressed and "treat" myself to so some not so healthy snacks. I am very much an emotional eater. If I have a bad or stressful day, I just reach for the cookie or two or ..... Anyway, I would like to lose weight in order to feel healthier and more energetic. I have found out that I don't sleep so well and get tired much easier. I love walking, but living in the New England region does not make it easy to walk all year round. Actually, I am seriously thinking about moving down South just to get the benefit of milder winters. I walk sometimes at the mall, but I am somewhat sensitive to all the scents and perfumes that some stores use. I know how important it is to have a buddy (-ies) when trying to lose weight. When my husband was alive we supported each other. Now, I am doing it alone and it is not working.

My Program:
I am watching my snack habits. I am buying more fresh produce and replacing sweets with delicious fruit (mango is my favorite). The nice thing is that when I eat good so does my DD. Kids are really watching us....

I am so ready for spring. I love walking but it is not possible with the winter we are having.
