Hello, I'm Liz. I'm 22 years old and live in the US of A. I have struggled with weight problems since I was in elementary school. It has been a long journey of yo-yoing weight. I am on a mission to transform my body and mind into the person I want to be - active, healthy, and vibrantly happy.

Just fyi - I have a love-hate relationship with tracking my exercise/nutrition and being on Spark. Sometimes it helps me and sometimes it just fuels my unhealthy perfectionist mindset and holds me back - so I may come and go :)

Physical health achievements:
- Resting heart rate went from 102 bpm in May 2012 to 78 bpm in October 2012.

My Goals:
- Improve emotional health and well-being.
- Improve overall physical health.
- Weigh in the 150s (eventually).
- Gain confidence in myself.
- Provide a positive example of healthy living for my future students/family.

My Program:
EMOTIONAL:
- Allow myself to fully feel my emotions. It's okay not to be constantly happy.

NUTRITIONAL:
- Eat when I'm hungry.
- Aim for eating whole grains, fruits, and veggies.
- Avoid saturated and trans fats.
- Paleo in the mornings

FITNESS
- Mon: 10 minutes cardio
- Tues: 15-20 minutes cardio, bootcamp strength training video, qigong
- Weds: off day
- Thurs: 15-20 minutes cardio, bootcamp strength training video, qigong
- Fri: 15-20 minutes cardio, bootcamp training video, qigoing
- Sat: 15-20 minutes cardio, bootcamp training video, qigong
- Sun: 15-20 minutes cardio, bootcamp training video, qigong

Living in Greece can be challenging...
It's a nice place and all, but people and situations are tricky...
I know I don't want to live here forever- nor do I ever want to come back.

Thanks for your blog comment. I think what I like most about this quote is its honesty. Running DOES hurt when you first start. Then it really does get easier. But if you stop doing it for a while, it starts to hurt again. (Speaking from experience here. It was a long, cold winter) Here's hoping spring gets more *spring-y*!
