The Next Chapter of This Journey!

Recently I was not in the best of states and would never have imagined things to be just so. By the grace of a whole lot of wonderful, I pulled through. I feel inexplicably overjoyed to be alive right now. It feels like a second lease on life!

I set a goal to make a total lifestyle change and, working toward it, I have noticed a HUGE difference. I’m much better for it! I want to be healthy and fit for life!

I am feeling the best that I ever have in my life. I have a man that I love wholly and deeply - he is a pretty special person! I have a body I'm taking really good care of and morphing into its best healthy state. I live close to healthy, organic restaurants, more options than I ever could have imagined, and I wake up every morning to see the sunrise from my veranda looking out to a 240-degree view of paradise. I am living my dream life, in my dream space, trying new things and relishing in every moment of every day.

I'm just so excited to see what this next chapter of my life brings - isn't it great to look forward instead of backwards?

07-10-14 Beginning my next Chapter; regaining sparkling health!

--------------------------------------

MY ACTION PLAN TO ATTAIN GOALS:

1. Rise in the morning, have a simple whey shake, and go to the gym for my quick strength-training workout before work. Emphasize push-ups, pull-ups, squats and deadlifts, to build a great physique.

2. Follow up with a whey shake made with my favorite fruit, berries.

3. Get to work, snacking on fresh cold-pressed green juice, kale salad, lemon water, herbal teas, and when hungry eat my favorite fresh egg salad with soup, a big caprese salad, or a savory mushroom omelette. Always prep these foods in advance -- don't leave nutrition to chance!

4. After work, break for some sprint intervals, or the like.

5. Eat an early dinner made with several cups of green vegetables… I'm partial to Mediterranean cuisine, fried rice with more vegetables than rice, Japanese side dishes, and delicious savory soups.

6. Earlier to bed, earlier to rise - this works tremendously well for me!

--------------------------------------

MY PERSONAL MANTRA, to be read often, and revised as new life experiences unfold… My life, and this page, are under constant construction!

--------------------------------------

SHOW UP

Your body doesn't care if your mind isn't feeling "motivated." The results will be the same, with or without it. Just DO the work needed to get to point B. Motivation is overrated. You don't need to get motivated each day in order to workout. You just need to SHOW UP.

Consistency will trump motivation. Looks something like "self discipline."

--------------------------------------

TRAIN FOCUSED

At the gym, do you LOOK like you expect results? Look around at others; it's easy to see who EXPECTS results. And those same individuals are GETTING them!

--------------------------------------

EAT HEALTHY

Eat for nutrients, not only to stay within a calorie range. Minerals in the form of cooked vegetables, raw vegetables, green smoothies, greens powders, fresh green juice, and other whole foods will give you the gift of energy unlike anything else.

I love this from Tony Robbins: "The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficiency your body, the better you will feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results."

--------------------------------------

PERSEVERE

Never give up. Enjoy the struggle as much as the prize. Reward your body with the very priorities that will GET YOU to your goal: by training it DAILY and eating healthy - because you are very, very worth it.

- Thomas Jefferson

"People spend half their life spending all of their health to acquire wealth, and the second half of their life spending more than their wealth trying to get their health back."

Don't be so tough on yourself about past mistakes… realize that the lessons were needed and had to be learned firsthand. Be tougher on yourself with: following through with your ideas, your plans, dreams, and goals, and staying committed to making the changes you want to make to better yourself, your life, and your future.

"Sometimes victory seems so far away because we measure it only by the goal. And end goals can seem overwhelmingly huge, daunting, and just plain hard to reach. But if we start measuring our victories by the smaller choices we make each day, victory won't seem so impossible.....
It's amazing the chain reaction that can start in your life with just one good choice.
Big things are built one brick at a time.
Victories are achieved one choice at a time.
A life well lived is chosen one day at a time.
Oh sweet friend, you are closer than you think to victory!"

Be your own hero, one choice and one step at a time! You might not see visible signs of progress right away, but as long as you keep doing your best, you will make progress and you will be victorious! I'm rooting for you! Remember, you're worth your best effort!
Hugs,
Pixie
