Wow! Can't believe I did it!

I can't believe I'm finally here! I'm fitting into clothes I haven't worn in quite a while. My body is slimmer, and I have an amazing sense of accomplishment. It's great to finally feel more control not only of my weight, but of my life. It's interesting to see how this sense of accomplishment spreads to other aspects of my life.

It's great to finally feel more control not only of my weight, but of my life. It's interesting to see how this sense of accomplishment spreads to other aspects of my life.

What has made a difference to me? No doubt about it, it's the book called "The Beck Diet Solution: How to Think Like a Thin Person." I had been following Weight Watchers for more than a decade and even worked for Weight Watchers for a while. That program worked great for me in my 30's and is a great way to learn about nutrition and how to eat. I recommend it highly. However, my problem was no longer what to eat, but more why didn't I eat what I was supposed to. Or, more specifically, how was it that I was gaining weight when it seemed like I was eating all the right things? The Beck Diet Solution is different. I hope I don't sound like an infomercial here, but this book helped me address my thought patterns about eating. My main problem was self esteem. I tend to beat myself up when I make mistakes. Now I have a much better handle on my success.

My challenge now is getting my self-esteem to catch up with my body image. I hit the long term goal that I set for myself in the beginning and decided to go for 5 pounds more. Once I hit this new goal, I'll be lower than my pre-pregnancy weight. I know I can do this. I believe in myself!

Hi there, I saw your comment under the blurb about Jazzercise in Charlotte. I used to go to the Queens College one too. Loved Allegra! Since cutting back on expenses though, i quit, so now i walk or do workout videos at home. I'm trying to organize a walking club for women in the Charlotte area. Let me know if you're interested! p.s. that cake on your profile looked beautiful! Way to go! And then i read the blurb about the towers falling on the way to the party! You must have been crushed after all that work! ack!

Hi Madgebs,

I see you joined the 40 somethings team. So I just wanted to stop in and say HI and welcome.

I noticed that you deal with migraines and neck pain. I too deal with these. Congrats on your new home!! Isa is a cutie. And I love the cake. Do you make cakes for a hobby?

Good luck with your weight loss goals, and your new healthy lifestyle.

Huggs
Michele

Hello! Thank you so much for your encouragement! You know, I believe you are right with Katie being injured. She is such a trooper, but can't bathe herself or anything right now. It's hard for a 13 yr old to have mom helping her with everything, but she will heal. It's strange, but I have not exercised for 2 days, and I still lost weight when I weighed this morning! I do my measurements, I had a friend recommend this to me when I started SP, so I hated it, but did it. Now I'm glad I did. I will measure later today and keep you posted!! lol

Hey ~ we are both cake decorators too!! I didn't know there was a team for decorators ~ I will have to join. Just finished a birthday cake the day Katie got hurt ~ that was a challenge!! ha

Thanks so much for coming to my page ~ you made my day! Take care!

hugs
Julie
