How things change! I didn't want to get rid of previous updates/intros. Each one has meaning and shows a bit of the background to my current intro.

Since March of 09, I ended up having major intestinal surgery and losing more weight. I dropped down to 115lbs and looked way too thin. Of course, in the last couple of months, I've gained 20lbs and am not happy. I looked best when I was 120 - 125lbs. That is my goal. I'm working toward being very healthy and very happy. I will succeed at this!

****Below is where my progress started. Boy have things changed since then. I have actually lost 5lbs more than I had initially set out to. I have changed my goal for another 5lbs because it still keeps me in a healthy weight range for my height. It isn't necessary but I wouldn't complain either.

JAN 09
****I started running again for the first time in over a decade. I ran and ran and ran some more. I started running around the end of Nov. 08 and by mid Jan. 09 I completed my first half marathon. I have been a smoker for a long time (in the process of quitting) and was surprised as to how well I actually did. My time was 2:13:36. I probably could have gone faster but I don't really care. My only goal was to complete it, not hurt myself from trying too hard.

I want to start training myself for a full marathon but I am battling some health issues at the moment. For the next month I am out of commission but after that, the road had better watch out because I'll be coming for it!!!

****What is written below has changed. Since that was written, I continued to gain weight even though I was eating healthier and less. I found out that I was allergic to yeast, rice and barley which I was eating on a regular basis. This is what was causing the weightgain. Since removing these items from my diet with great difficulty, the pounds are just melting off. I've lost 10LBS in the last week and a half and I feel great!!

This is the hardest diet I have ever been on. And yet it isn't a diet, it is a lifestyle. I have to stick with it for my health and I believe I can do it.

****I've recently gained about 15+ pounds since I got married and I hate it. I really need to lose that weight to feel better about myself. So here is a start!

My Goals:
Train for a full marathon, tone up everything a bit more, get healthy!

My Program:
I walk at least a mile and a half during lunch every day. My goal is to get 2 miles in each day on lunch.

I also plan to start riding my bike to and from work every other day.

Hiking every weekend.

Joined Women's Fitness Network on and will participate weekly with their activities!
