I'm married without any kids, work in the oil field and work way to many hours. Right now I'm in an office position that at least gives me a schedule, however, I'm taking online classes which seem to take up most of my free time.

Normally when I'm in the field I'm away from home for weeks at a time living in hotels or camps. The longest I've been away was 6 weeks straight. The problem I have is trying to eat healthy when on the road. Many of the towns we have to stay in are very small and don't offer many choices of restaurants. We spent 33 days in a town that only had a local pub, an A&W, Subway and a Dairy Queen!!! Plus when on the road we usually work 10-12 hour days and its not realistic to be eating lots of small meals throughout the day. I usually dont have supper until late etc...

I am making the best of this time I have in the office to try and get on track. I am eating a lot better and keeping track of everything I put in my mouth. I was trying to get to my local gym and do the classes I love to do 4-5 times a week but it just wasn't happening with my class workload. We have a small gym at our office which I've been trying to use 4 days a week. Once a week we all go out for vietnamese food at lunch, its my treat, since I'm doing that and skipping out on happy hour after work every Friday.

I have lost 12lbs since Jan 1, 2011 but seem to have hit a plateau. I have heard that running might help to get over the plateau so I have started C25K and have just completed week 2.

So far so good, hoping to keep up with these life changes and once I go back to the field sometime after May 1st i really hope to continue on this path. It will be challenging but its something I've just gotta do!

My Goals:
New Short term goal!!! burn 3500 calories a week working out, lose 5 lbs by the end of the year. So 5lbs in just over 6 weeks.

Get to a BMI where I'm considered healthy, in my case that would be 159lbs or less.

My Program:
When I'm in town I do 4 to 5 classes a week at the gym. I work in the oilfield and can be away for weeks at a time, which makes eating right and exercising difficult.

That race sounds awesome!! Unfortunately I will be in Calgary the weekend after that for the Spartan Race! You should check that one out. It's a 5k obstacle race. http://spartanrace.com/. You should definitely check out a race sometime. It doesn't matter if you walk some of it because almost everyone does!

Hi! Thanks for the comment on my blog. Yes I did finish the Livefit program, but I ended around crazy holiday time 12/17/11, and never got back around to filling everyone in on how it went. I was really pleased with my results. I gained a ton of muscle and slimmed out nicely. I didn't end up following the whole carb cycling in the last phase because I didn't want to do that to my body (It wasn't like I was gearing up to be in a bikini body contest or anything) so I just continued to eat clean and stick in my calorie range. Unforunately in the last two weeks many holiday parties came up so eating wasn't perfect and I didn't get a lot of the cardio in the last two weeks because of time constraints. I probably would have seen more weight loss if I did. Since I finished the program I am still very much into lifting weights and interval training, which I am glad to have been introduced to through livefit. It's possible that i would do the program again at a time I wanted to get ready for something like beach season or a wedding, but it did end up being a big time commitment that I had a hard time keeping up with. Sometimes I felt like I lived at the gym and I would prefer to work out at home. All in all, I would recommend it. I hope you enjoy it!

Hi Macwendy, just happened to be in my email when your post to my blog came through. i haven't been on here in ages. To answer your question, it's kinda funny. It was Breezes Jibacoa that this happened.
