The Constant Challenge

I've been fighting to lose my extra weight for years. I am always successful in losing the weight, but not so much in keeping it off. This has to be the last time I go through this. I need to finally lose the weight and feel good about my body.

Two years ago my husband and I started running races. We ran a half marathon in September 2013 and let ourselves go after that. We are now getting back in shape and signing up for more races.

It is better, that's for sure. But so is working out :D

Here is my blonde story of the day. I saw rhubarb and ginger preserves at the store and thought "that sounds wonderful! I shall get some!" So I did. It's pretty much pure sugar, which defeats the purpose of my no sugar during the week, but whatever, it's a preserve! But then I was finishing my rice cake with PB and banana after dinner snack, I had the odd idea that the preserve would go quite nice with PB. So I tried it, it was heaven in my mouth, it was delicious, yet tasted strangely familiar. After pondering for a few seconds, the realization hit me: this is JUST LIKE PB&J!! Then I cherished my brilliance, "well, of COURSE the two would go together!" then I realized, duh, it IS PB&J. ... So I then proceeded to make another rice cake, but this with with the PB&J. Completely unnecessary, but wonderfully delicious. And it finished the preserves, so I won't be buying anymore since it didn't last very long.

I found an old picture of myself on spark where I labeled my pant size as a 14 and my weight at 175. I would imagine my current weight is around that then, which means from my lowest weight, I've gained about 40 lbs, but from where I was maintaining around 145-155, it's probably 25 lbs gained. I'm still stuck at wanting to weigh myself :/

But the whole thing is that then I have a comparison because your weight is your weight, regardless of size. It's the only thing I can really compare to and although it isn't the only way to track progress, it is the way that shows results the quickest. I guess that's why, I need a quick fix to be like "yes, this is working". I know I'm focusing on healthier habits right now, but how can I say the habits are worthwhile? My clothes aren't getting looser (that I know of), and without knowing that they are isn't really giving me an indication of success (although success should just be on the healthy habits).

Knitting isn't all that difficult and there are plenty of youtube videos to teach yourself. I think a blanket is a great idea! It would be something I would love to do! I just don't know how to combine the squares together. I suppose I've done it before when alternating scarf colors, but I sort of just did it without proper instruction.
