Hi, My name is Lori. I have struggled with my weight all of my life. Now it is a matter of life or death for me. I am a raising 11 year old boys and work full time as a nurse. I seem to be able to care for everyone but myself. I recently had my 47th birthday. I am on a mission to turn my health around and be the best that I can be. By this time next year, I want to be 100 pounds lighter and 100% healthier. Goal for 2010 = 228 lbs. Thank you for all of the support. I hope to one day motivate and inspire you!

My Goals:
My daily goals are to do the following:
1. Track food intake
2. Exercise 3-5x a week
3. Portion control
4. Drink 8 glasses of water a day
My long term goal is to lose 180 pounds over a 2 year period. I will set small goals of 25# and reward myself along the way. Exercise starting 3 times a week for 30 to 45 minutes per session. Eat a whole food healthy diet low in sugar and saturated fats.

Personal Information:
I am a 47 year old mother of 11 year old twin boys. I have been over weight since I was about 10 years old.I am a stress and a emotional eater. I have tried every diet plan including a liquid diet for three months with the exception of Surgery. My children are my life and I want to see them grow up and have a family of their own. I don't want to die prematurely because of my weight and eating habits!

    Thanks for your comment. Hope your week went well and that you have a good week ahead of you. Sometimes we get through it 10 minutes at a time (like yesterday, for me--all I wanted to do was eat crap!).

    Glad to hear you leg is getting better. Picking one thing is a great idea--and I know that the nutrition tracker is the single, best tool in terms of keeping me on track. I enter EVERYTHING, even on days when I don't eat all that healthy--like this morning, I went out for breakfast with my husband and wanted pancakes, but I didn't have butter or whipped cream with them and I used stewed apples and blueberries on them instead of sugar syrup-they still tasted delicious, they still 'fixed' my craving, but I could easily have tripled the calories by adding the other stuff--which would not have given me triple the enjoyment! :)
