YES ~ I CAN!!!

Hello everyone...

I have been on this earth for 76 years, (never thought I would say that!!!)... still think I'm 40 sometimes, fairly active and wanting to get healthier.
~ Being 76 years YOUNG is far more cheerful and hopeful than being 40 years OLD!

Hello everyone...

I have been on this earth for 76 years, (never thought I would say that!!!)... still think I'm 40 sometimes, fairly active and wanting to get healthier.

***Now that I am 76....I don't feel any different than I did 25 years ago. I still work hard in my garden, run up and down the stairs in our house a dozen times a day...go for walks and dance to my favourite boogie music. May be a little less ~ but doing it.

I'm still 30 lb over my ideal weight...but considering....I'm learning to accept myself and be me. After all, what else do I have to aspire to at this stage of the game? Just to continue serving Jehovah, living a happy and active life and enjoying my family and friends.

I am married, mother of 3 girls, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren ...all so very precious!

I am passionate about living here on the west coast. I love the rain forest, the mountains, the fantastic beaches, creeks, rivers and lakes. And the wildlife is so beautiful. I never tire of it, even when a momma deer comes up the street at night and eats my hostas :)

When I was younger, it all came so easy. And thus ~ this is the lesson I have learned here on SP. That nothing comes easy when it comes to self discipline. It comes with EFFORT.
Stay with SP and you can't go wrong!

Thank you to all who have and are supportive. It means a great deal to me.

The following quote is from Beth Donovan (INDYGIRL) Jan.26/13 blog.

"My message to everyone is that you can do it at any time in your life at any age, even while disabled. Just don't give up. Time does not matter, screw ups do not matter, failures are not ends, they are speed bumps. There is no more wagon to fall off of, there is only the journey. Make small changes and tweaks that you can sustain for a lifetime. Adapt your eating plan to your lifestyle, not the other way around. Then you will see the changes come."

My Goals:
Short term goal: Be healthier for my Alaskan cruise in May. (Done)

To see my daughters turn 65...
Which means I could then possibly live to see my great granddaughters married. YESSSS!!!

My Program:
Walking, treadmill on rainy days, weights, dancing to boogie woogie and core strengthening.

Personal Information:
I was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1980. The best thing I ever did. Learning about Jehovah God, our creator, his purposes for mankind and applying Bible principles to my life has given me a peace of mind that I never thought possible.
I live on the West Coast of BC and love walking the forest trails, the seashore and wildlife we have here in our valley.

“The difference between stepping stones and stumbling blocks is not in the event itself but how you think about it and what you do after it.
Every failure and setback can become part of your success or an excuse for quitting or failing.
People who develop the discipline of positivity are both happier and more successful."
-Michael Josephson

Just dropping by to say hello, Sparkfriend! Remember, you don't have to be perfect on this journey in order to make progress! As long as you keep trying...and never quit...you are already a success! Keep doing your best, because you are worth the effort!
Hugs,
Pixie

"Part of abandoning the all-or-nothing mentality is allowing yourself room for setbacks.
We are bound to have lapses on the road to health and wellness, but it is critical that we learn how to handle small failures positively so that we can minimize their long-term destructive effects.
One setback is one setback—it is not the end of the world, nor is it the end of your journey toward a better you.”

"It is rewarding to find someone you like, but it is essential to like yourself.
It is quickening to recognize that someone is a good and decent human being, but it is indispensable to view yourself as acceptable.
It is a delight to discover people who are worthy of respect and admiration and love, but it is vital to believe yourself deserving of these things."

"My invitation to you is to begin living every moment as though you are miraculous and deserve to live an extraordinary life.
Fake it if you must and keep faking it until it’s real to you. The gift you will be giving yourself is a lifelong journey of discovery, one that is infinite and infinitely rewarding. Begin the journey. Today. This moment. Now."

emoticon Hi girlfriend! Hope you are having a nice weekend. Right now we're getting rain so it has spoiled part of the weekend for some. Not for us, we didn't go away at all, just hanging around the house!
