One day at a time!

I am the single mom of two boys - one highschooler and one marine recruit. I have had some success this year but put on some pounds after Christmas. Now that Spring is coming I am seeking new motivation. Here it is - I will buy myself some new, cute work out clothes and a new swimsuit if I can get back to eating healthy and working out. No number attached to this goal - just feeling and eating better! :)

My Goals:
I have entered my spark goal to lose 38 pounds by October of 2009. I am getting close to reaching my goal and am getting nervous about maintenance. I successfully lost weight 5 years ago and then, let the weight creep back up on me - due to stress/divorce, etc. I will definitely need Sparkpeople to maintain my success this time!

My Program:
Nutrition: Tracking every mouthful! Packing my lunch to make this easier. Eating more fruits & veggies (a serving at every meal for sure). Watching portion sizes. Making healthy substitutes where I can. (Whole Wheat pasta/bread; skim milk) Eating balanced meals - more variety. Eat 3 meals a day and 2 or 3 snacks - eat when hungry and eat food I like. Have dessert every day - even if its just fruit or a small piece of chocolate - that way I don't feel deprived.

Exercise: Get up and do something every morning for 10 - 20 minutes - have several videos to choose from, or just stretch or a quick walk. - sets my mind right for the day. Attend Zumba 3 days a week. (Love it - hope to add more dance classes!) Strength Traning exercises alternate 3 days a week. Walking, biking or exercise videos in between.

Personal Information:
I am a native Georgian and live on the coast. Love the beach and hanging out with my sons.

Love to read - particularly a fan of John Grisham, Anne Tyler, Olive Ann Burns, Agatha Christie, Mary Higgins Clark and Stephen King.
Last movie I watched (& liked) - "The Bucket List"
